Caller: Claimed to be NBN technician Called advising that I am the account holder and that my NBN has a technical issue (I don't have NBN) when advised he said Wi-Fi and asked me to do a speed test. Now it was a legit site that they wanted me to use. But I lied about reading and provided and excellent one, he was till inferring it was way to slow. What was scary is that he knew what speed I was supposed to have. Or maybe it was a guess. I thought it was sus and lied most of the way through, but when they asked for the test I logged on. In the beginning, when I advised him I didn't have NBN he got very angry. I should have hung up then. When I told him to calm down or I would hang up he calmed. His urgency trick did not work! They then asked that I leave the speed test and attempted to talk me into providing remote access. I hung up. I nearly bought into this. Glad I didn't. Watch out.
