Caller: TPG I received a message from this number this morning, thought it may have been a scam. I contacted TPG to see if it was and I can safely say that it is NOT a scam. The message was automated, but was official from TPG. If you receive a message from this number and you are not a customer, it's possible that a real TPG customer simply entered their phone number and now you are receiving messages intended for them. I just wanted to put this out there because it stressed me out this morning, and wanted to let people know my findings. If you are sceptical of a number being fake, you should call the company the person claims to represent and confirm it with them. Don't just blindly write a comment online that's going to confuse and mislead people.

Txt message says it's from TPG, but sounds like a scam as my phone is not with TPG.

Caller: They say they are from TPG but I have my doubts. I received an SMS asking to me to reply by SMS so they could call me. Very suspicious as they don't even say what it is about so I won't respond!

I received a message on my mobile early this morning saying 'Hi Sir! I've sent you the terms and conditions via email. Please reply yes so that we can process it.' Process what??? For one thing, I'm not a Sir, I'm a female and secondly, I didn't receive an email from whoever it was either, so it's obviously not legit! I did NOT reply!!

Caller: Claims to be from tpg Definitely a scam. They send an sms on this number with a generic” Hi, we'll be calling you today to chat about your TPG service. Thanks - TPG Team”. Then ring. When challenged with ‘do you even know who you are calling they don’t even try to give a name or alleged tpg account number”. They just keep saying ‘didn’t you get our sms’. Anyone but a moron knows that sms can come from anywhere and so getting an sms purporting to come from tpg is not an assurance of anything. This number may or may not have been used by tog at some stage but like any number can be spoofed and so you cannot assume anything about authenticity. Those comments recently affirming it is a tog number either can come from the scammers themselves or can come from customers that received a non-spoofed call. But either way - the call you get from this numbers is possibly spoofed. Wake up to these scams - give the a mouthful describing the low life’s they are and hang up .

txt from 0416 906 330. It says the sent a txt in September re a refund in relation to NBN internet speeds but they haven't heard back from me. Says to check email for details or phone 1300 013 989 9am to 6pm. This seems like a scam. No email has arrived or anything else. If they want to refund me what's stopping them doing this on my account with a credit? I will phone TPG on their advertised number to check. I strongly suspect scam. Possibly one where you let them into your bank account to take back the extra thousands they popped in there. Watch Pierogi on you tube. in Scammer Payback. He calls them out all the time. Its Christmas time, people need cash, scammers are counting on this for people to look for that refund so they can scam them. See Pierogi on you tube for how the refund scam works.
