I think it's legit. I got a text about 5 minutes after trying (unsuccessfully) to use my Amex for the first time in a year. it invites me to log in and view my account details. No link or anything else which could be dodgy

Received about 40 texts from this number in an approx 5 hour period. Knew that no reputable financial institution would intentionally initiate that many texts. Called AMEX on the number on the back of my card. They confirmed it is not an official AMEX number. Definitely a scam. Do not open the texts. Just delete them immediately without opening them

Caller: AMEX These calls are from AMEX. I get text messages from that same no. Apparently it is a subscription service that I didn't know I'd subscribed to, but it is just an update on your card balance which ends with 'Please text STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for info.' Try that!

They called me said it was Australian department of affairs and they had a case against me with someone using my identity and there was a warrant for my arrest. It’s fake

Definitely a scam saying Amex card ending ### bill is due today. I knew it's a scam because I know when my AMEX card bill is definitely due and I know Amex don't send such texts. Do not click on link!

Caller: AMEX On my phone this is AMEX letting me know I forgot to pay a bill. Perhaps, due to Covid, this person is working from home? It was just a reminder.

SCAM ALERT! Please do not click on the link of the SMS. They send out messages saying your atm card is blocked. Bear in mind only you can block your card and if there’s any suspicious activities always check your account or call your bank. These lowlifes are desperate and have nothing better to do. Do not call the number and do not click on any link. Delete and block

Getting a text every few days now, telling me my last transaction did not go through; haven't had an AMEX for over a year now; cancelled it fully with them back then. DEF SCAM.

Amazing how many msg here claiming it's legit, yet using different names like anonymous, AMEX and American Express. American Express WON'T text you like this the scammers are on this site trying to make you think it's legit. Don't fall for it.

Caller: test message from Amex Fraud Protection with this phone number. Have just been through the process of receiving a text from this number and is genuine. I logged into my account and got through to Amex. Advised genuine. A number of unauthorised transactions put onto my account.
