I had a call from this number saying that they were from Swann Insurance in regards to a claim. The other party was suppose to be saying that they did not damage my property. When I asked if I needed to ring my solicitor they no longer wanted to talk.

Caller: A woman claiming to be from RecoveriesCorp Caller claimed to be from RecoveriesCorp regarding a motor accident I’ve apparently been involved in. They claim to represent the TP insurer who I have been avoiding - and needed to discuss the matter of my outstanding debt on a motor claim.
• I’ve not been involved in a motor accident and therefore haven’t had any contact with any insurer about a claim I’m involved in. • They wouldn’t discuss anything further until I provided personal information to them that was beyond a normal ID check. Quite hostile when I wouldn’t provide. • I’ve worked in commercial heavy motor insurance for over a decade and am familiar with RecoveriesCorp. They are a legitimate, organisation with an accurate reputation of being quite unreasonable and unprofessional. As bad as they are, this was just a poor effort at a scam.

I said I haven’t been in an accident for years. Was it my private car or the taxi I drive?
She wouldn’t say, so I hung up and blocked her.

Caller: Scammer Had a missed call from this number. Glad it was missed because now its blocked. Looking at the history of this phone number (and there's a lot), its very telling its clearly a scam. Firstly, insurance companies, or debt recovery companies, or any company with over 100 employees, do not use mobile numbers to call you. They use office lines. At desks, in an office. Secondly, they're asking you for information. As most people here have indicated, never ever give out personal information, especially from someone claiming to be from a company on a mobile phone of all things. The best approach, if it really is legit, and the caller, ie we the recipient of the call do not wish to talk to a random person on a mobile phone, is for that company to send a letter. And if they don't have the address, tough luck. That could be anyone on a mobile phone. No matter how convincing the scam may be, no matter how many people claim its legit, do not discuss a single thing with them.

This number is Recoveriescorp - it is legitimate but they are a debt recovery organisation and not very professionally run. They purchase the debt from insurance companies which is why they are saying Aimee, Suncorp, and NRMA, because the debt was bought from them. They are a huge pain especially if you miss a payment then pay it through the portal you still have to go through the painful process of calling them to tell them or they reattempt the missed direct debit. I have to manage it for my daughter after her accident because they are so inept. Btw NRMA blamed my daughter 100% for the accident that even the police described as ‘each bears own’ - mainly because she was an unemployed 18 year old and their client was a toffee nosed solicitor!

Caller: Insurance Australia He said from insurance australia, then start asking me to give him my personal information to discuss further. I was like no I can't just give it to you, you can tell me my detail and I would be happy to confirm or correct it. Then He said they will contact again and it was related to an motovehicle inccident. But I never had any inccident? Is that a scam call ???

Okay, so these guys go by Insurance Australia or Recoveries Corp. I had an at fault car accident with no insurance and was handed to RC to make payments in instalments.
First of all, if you ever take this route, ask if the insurer uses Recoveries Corp and if they say yes do not do it because it is just one big headache after another.
The whole reason this rep was calling me was in regards to a dispute I have with them because I had made a manual payment to pay off the balance and my scheduled payment.came out anyway. Why? "Because you didn't tell us you were going to make a manual payment" I did it through their own online portal.
Not to mention I always had trouble logging in (invalid reference number some times, other times it worked fine) and actually had to rustle up 3 different 1300 numbers to call them to talk to someone.
Anyway, today she called me at 745am. Ugh. When I asked who is calling she said her name from insurance Australia which I immediately thought was a scam call but then she started talking about my issue with recoveries Corp so I guess they go by both names

Called claiming to be from Suncorp Insurance and asked me to confirm the phone number he had just called me on. Said that he was representing me in a car accident claim (I haven't had a car accident nor initiated any claim, nor am I with Suncorp!). Wouldn't give me any more information until I confirmed my phone number. He did have my first name though so I was nearly fooled.
