caller claimed to be from Police raising money for a charity for educating kids against Ice.
Wanted $300 from my company to sponsor a handbook.

Then received email from this lot:

A look on whirlpool forums indicates it's a scam. Also dropped into my local constabulary who made it very clear that Police never ask for money over the phone.

They are committing a federal offence in posing as a police officer. The tone of the conversation was intended to fool me into thinking that I was speaking with an officer.

Policelink advised to ignore all subsequent correspondence received from them.

Received a marketing call to advertise in police magazine. I gave them my email address and business card. When you ask for a journal to be sent out to you, they would not do it. Demanding $385 from me to advertise in it. I can't trust them

Received 2 calls yesterday and today. Telephone numbers - 0402 969 747, 0402 959 701, 0402 959 690

Just got a call from them claiming to be police asking for support for schools in the area to promote roll out program in august about educating children regarding drug abuse. Sounded Suss. I said I am not going to commit without verifying who they are. he hung up and I heard the f word at the end. terrible.

Received a call from them claiming to be from the Police like all the other comments. Asked for the 'business owner', as soon as I said you've called a private mobile they instantly hung up.

.. Just got a call from them.. Put them on hold..LOL!!!

I got a call from a male claiming to be from the federal police looking for local businesses to advertise in a booklet for awareness of children and the drug ice. They'd been on Facebook on my hobby site and we're trying to get me to pay a special price today only to secure my spot. Told them it was not a business and only a hobby. Thought it was suspicious.

I received the same call this morning from this number claiming to be federal police looking for donations. They were looking for the owner of the company???? And when we got down to it they were looking for the owner a little side business I set up as a Facebook page for making radio ads that I never persued so they must be scouting FB for details.

Constant nuisance calls from people purporting to be from police, fire brigade, SES etc.the numbers change every day.
