Caller: Austral Police Watch *For anyone who has agreed to this and doesn’t want to go ahead with it after reading any or all negative reviews about this organisation.* If you have had a call from this company, and have agreed to go ahead (sent back an email confirmation by their request). Ring them back immediately on this number - (03) 9937 0200 and request that your name be removed from the support list, they will try to delay it or refer to someone else to do, but please insist that they do it on the spot. My confirmation to be apart of the ad campaign was luckily not approved straight away from the person who originally rang me, so I got them to remove it before I had to pay anything.

Caller: I don't know I put their certificate on my website https://www.actiongroup.website for my accolades, they said they would send me a copy of the book, however I never got it. Also when your number goes in the book you get a lot of cold calls from other aggressive cold callers. A worthy cause nonetheless.

Do not agree. The guy had me on the phone for over 25mins never told me how much it was, then sends me an email for $385. I was more than happy to support however I did the stupid mistake of not asking how much as I have ever dealt with a business that asks for that much.
I didn’t even see the booklet, never got a proof to ask if I was happy with the placement.
What kind of a business is this? I work in advertising and deal with clients all the time. This just isn’t normal practice

Negative experience. Cold aggressive initial contact for a good value product sponsorship. Presumed agreement was supposed to activated by returning their email contact. Subsequently repeated [no ID phone number] contact demanding money, saying book was on its way. Did not stop until ACCC reference was raised into the dialog.

Caller: Streetsmart They claimed to be from Auspol. Said they were putting a book together with Neighbourhood watch for highschoil. Said I would only be involved if my information was included in the "services information" page & I was bot interested un an ad. I waited until I saw the book. They just put in an ad which is precisely what I said I didn't want. Now they are trying to get me to pay over $500 (but they just reduced it to 200 yesterday). It's a scam and I will be reporting them.

Friendly phone call, until they send you an email and ask you (while you're on the phone with them) to respond with "I Agree", where you would basically agree to the purchase order of an advertisement/sponsorship.
Not normal business practice.
Just go find another way to help out.

These guys are legitimate I worked for them for a few years The main issue is, others are not and live off the coat tails of CWA As long as it is CWA then you are dealing with a professional company who represent many good organizations

Caller: Streetsmart Handbook Received a call last year to advertise, sounded like a good idea for a “good cause” I felt the happy to help the kids return email was a weird way to agree to do an ad with them. I get an email the next year saying congratulations that they have placed my ad in the book and I owed them $355 They never asked myself how I would like the wording of the ad, and the advertisement was very average and will definitely not get my business any exposure. I paid the first instalment, then a week later I get a call from what sounded like the same company, saying I now owed them $480 dollars, I told them I already paid $150 and the total should be $200. They said I hadn’t paid, I then questioned them further and said they were from a different company and had no ties with streetsmart handbooks. I had never agreed to another company, they had similar names to each other both beginning with Aust. Be aware people, they are trying their luck to scam money off you. Donate your money elsewhere, where you have control of who you pay. Very unprofessional model and dodgy. Be aware!!

It is most definitely a scam. Whilst they may not technically be breaking the law they use unethical cold calling practices, 'fake' demands for payment and often misrepresent themselves as being from Australia Police, Neighbourhood Watch, Safety House Association, etc. They prey on peoples good nature and I am almost certain that the booklets they print are only done so to prove to conned advertisers they printed their advert. Whilst they say it is distributed to Year 11 or 12 students I have never seen it at any schools, nor have I ever seen a student with a copy. High school kids have the internet and smartphones! Why on earth would they be using a cheesy booklet full of adverts as a source of information. Do yourself a favour and hang-up on any cold calls asking for advertising in such handbooks.

I have the same situation here just now I received a call from 0481 034 034 auspol but their email are dodgy orders @ cwa.carmacloud.com and they let me get the Bronze support and I was push to hit the "I agree" and send the email to them.
Is this a scam or what? I tried searching auspol on the web but there's nothing.
Can I just ignore their email and calls.

Had a call from this number 0447 433 186 They emphasized the word 'Police' made me think they were calling from the local cop shop. He started talking about Street Smart and placing an ad on there, charging upwards of 330 from a small business size ad to 990 which is 1/4 of an A5 booklet. The guy was quite pushy and was trying to give me discounts... sounded disappointed when I said we were just starting up and was not able to afford at the moment.
I asked for contact detail, the guy gave me a personal number and said that he did not have a work email address that he can give me.
Slightly dodgy!
