They've tried calling me on (02) 8036 4738 as well. They always call me while I'm working so I can never answer.

She said she was with OPTUS.I recently upgraded my service with Optus and she knew nothing about it. She was very quick to hang up when I ASKED HER to confirm her details

these calls are sales & marketing calls from OCIS, they're sub-contracted by optus and that's why they had the name and handset details etc. despite myself being on the do not call register, they're actually within their right to call because it not technically a cold call. my mobile service is with optus and there is a clause as default within their contracts/terms of service that you agree to accept those marketing calls conducted by them, via the subcontractor, so you have to opt out. i did that under my previous contract and since renewing it two weeks ago, the calls started again.if you actually call back on the number (03) 9982 8803) from the phone that they're calling, there's an automated option to opt out.

I answered it, was an Optus (apparently) sales person wanting me to roll over my contract a month or two early & they will waive the early renewal fee.
Sounded legit (they knew my name, when my contract was expiring, and which type of phone I have). It's a plausible cal for Optus to be making.
But then again, who knows these days??

received a few missed calls from this number

I recieved a call from these people over the coarse of the last couple of weeks, i have NO idea if this is a scam, like BG said, they knew my name, and contract details, but it really does seem too good to be true
especially after i asked them to provide contact details, they told me to call back on (03) 9937 7706, which is completely different....
They said the company is called OCIs, or something.

I got a call from this number on the morning of the 9th June 2012. Didn't pick it up as it's an unknown number to me.
Hate telemarketers, good thing I missed it, otherwise I'll pull a prank on him/her: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fl5uhjJFTiE
