Just copped a call from this number, all I got was a hangup sound in my ear

It called me then didn't pick up then i called back it said that the number was disconnected. weird

I just missed a call from this number also - I keep ignoring the other optus marketing number, now it's this one! SO i can't confirm who it is, but that i will just ignore it.
I have my number down on the don't call register - but I guess if you are an optus customer (which I am) they are going to call! They really shouldn't call - how do we know it's genuinely optus?

Yesterday it was (03) 9009 6600. Try answering and saying that if they don't stop calling you will cancel your optus accounts and advise optus that calls from this service are the reason. You have to give them the incentive to remove your name from their contact Database. A credible threat to their business interest.

If you answer, you are put on hold for Optus. This is a, computer based IP dialout for telemarketing purposes. It costs them nothing to ring you. It will cost you to ring them back. DON'T BOTHER
