This number belongs to Wallis Social Research based in Melbourne. They called me but I was busy so they arranged a suitable time to call me back. They work for organisations such as the TAC, WorkSafe and Public Transport Victoria to gather opinions to improve services. Take a look at their website and you will see that they work for reputable organisations and follow all privacy guidelines. Their website also explains that if you are contacted and do not want to participant you can tell them so and they will put you on their internal do not call register. I found the experience interesting and the interviewer friendly and professional.

Calling on behalf of Workforce Australia (Centrelink) to complete a survey.
I told them I wasn't interested and wouldn't have much to offer anyway, as I didn't really use the new Workforce Australia for very long at all.

So much for the do not call register if these people still pester call

Picked up phone, it immediately hung up! Must be an auto dialler looking for valid numbers.

Wanting to ask questions about employment services Australia. I told them I wasn’t interested, then was offered a $10 gift voucher to participate. Kept telling her I wasn’t interested and wanted to be taken off their call register. She kept reading her script over me, I ended up having to hang up as they would not listen. Added to my blocked caller list!

This company does research on behalf of clients such at the Victorian Government, Work Safe Authority. They are legit.

Repeated calls within seconds of each other, and the calls only last about 2s before they hang up and try again, which is abnormal regardless of whether it's a legitimate company or not.
