Can't believe the people who get upset about this, and infer that it is ruining their lives. They just rang me and I let the answer machine pick up while I listened without interrupting what I was doing. They left no message and hung up. I came on here to see who it was. I usually get one a day, sometimes more, sometimes none, from various numbers. Can't understand those who answer and then get annoyed. They are wasting their own time. All you need is an answering machine and called ID.

If I don't answer after 8 or 10 call, any sane person would conclude I didn't want to speak to them. Not you guys apparently!!

Just received a call from this number asking me to participate in a survey on Australian garment industry. I declined but thought I would check the company. The phone number is correct but this survey is not on your current surveys page so assuming some one is spoofing your number, so I have blocked it.

These people have been persistently calling me, 5 days in a row. I have their number blocked.
I don't want to answer your damn surveys. If I wanted too, I'd do it on a website! I'm not comfortable with phone calls!!

Saturday 10:10 am I was just awoken from a deep daytime nap (I have sleep apnoea and get hardly any sleep at night) by a call from Wallis. After checking on this site I called them to have my number removed. I must say, they were very polite and gave immediate assurances that such would be the case. In Wallis's favour also, I must commend them for responding to the complaints on this site by clearly stating their bona fides, rationale for calling, and website to contact if wishing not to be contacted in future. I wish all companies were so responsible. Well done, Wallis. In defence of some of the angrier posts above, it is worthwhile pointing out the obvious: that people are feeling under siege in the privacy of their own homes by a constant barrage of phone calls. No doubt most of the calls are from well-intentioned market researchers, such as Wallis, but the sheer number and the inappropriate times of such calls contribute to that under-siege mentality. Like most of the posters on this site, I am desperate to maintain my home as some sort of sanctuary from the outside world--a sanctuary that is constantly being invaded by all sorts of unwanted intrusions. This over-busy world is a source of stress and inconvenience for many of us. The privacy of the home should be a defence against such unwelcome intrusions.

If your calling me because my bank, the gov or who ever I deal with wants my feedback about their services THEY can send me a letter with a prepaid envelope enclosed & if I have the time or can be bothered I will reply. Some already send me emails-constantly wanting my opinions & feedback!!!!! But these constant calls everyday, evenings & even Saturday are just ridiculous! I work in community care & my elderly clients get very upset when their phone is ringing all hours especially when some are in bed by 5pm. Its unnerving for them & they are frightened. I, like most people nowadays, don't answer calls unless I know the number. I'm on the do not call register & have private, unlisted numbers but get calls all the time from numbers I don't know-so I don't answer! Please stop wasting time, $s etc.

Wallis market research are just leeches feeding off of the public who work hard to keep them in a job. You are all idiots and other adjectives I cannot put on this reply. You ridiculous reply about doing a job for government is an excuse. I wonder if you would answer your own companies phone calls if you were sitting at home enjoying your family time only to be interrupted by nuisance phone calls. Losers!

Dear Wallis man,

"We would not be in business if people did not want to talk with us - the vast majority is happy to."
A lot of people talk to you because they feel compelled by politeness or they are old and lonely. It's not the same as wanting to.

"Wallis interviews around 100,000 people every year. We have our own Do Not Call Register and we will put your number on it if you wish."
The public needs to be better informed about this.

"... your bank, or a government department and they provide your telephone number so that we can ask your opinion"
This is a violation of privacy by these organisations. Again, the public needs better education about their rights and how to opt out of this passing around of people's PRIVATE communication channels.

"We always welcome feedback
You clearly don't, as you are not listening to the obvious feedback you can see x 1,000,000 on this site

"I am disappointed with the negative sentiments shown here."
... because you live in a bizarro world where you believe this is something people want. It's just not. Nobody has time for this. This website, and many others like it, is an indication but you don't want to see because your business depends on you continuing as if you are not the one being painful. Your model of contacting people is old fashioned and belongs in the previous century.. literally.

I do appreciate that you are trying to address this with direct communication, and you seem like a decent person, but communication works both ways and this is my reply.

So if your company isn't a scam, why did your caller introduce themselves as calling from the department of human services?
