Disgruntled Gigger

This company works to make your life safe in various areas. For this call they wanted to check that my alarm system is working on behalf of my landlord / rental management service. However, the annoying thing is that the system is automated, and everyone is following a script, and really really wanting to get someone out there asap, without any consideration for your own plans.
"Can we send someone there tomorrow?"
Saturday morning? 24 hours notice? No. Send me an email of your available times and I'll choose a time convenient to me.
"Sorry sir, I can't email. I can send a text confirmation of your booking."
No. Which century are you from? Sorry, I'm not available for two weeks.
"I'll call you again in two weeks. Click."
What? And then try and book 24 hours again on a Saturday? Nope.
Callers won't listen to you, and keep insisting on organising someone to visit. I guess they get a commission on every confirmed call-out.
Both my wife and I received several automated calls from this service while sleeping, so we'll be in contact with the landlord about it to schedule a time. As we're both online giggers, we have random jobs at all hours paid by the minute, so we need to schedule a visit to the minute, when we're not seeing clients. If they had gone about it a different way (an email with a list of available times) like other fire alarm checking companies I've dealt with in the last 25 years, it would have been a lot easier. (Yes, I have been using email since 1992)
I looked on their website, their parent website, their trust company details, their ABN details, and other avenues and either there isn't an email, their email is hidden, or the email address is not relevant to this particular offshoot of the parent company. And, no Line, WeChat, Kakao Talk, WhatsApp, Telegram, Skype, FB, Insta or other way of contacting them. Just a phone number. Nope. Not even a way to record written feedback. I guess if you have a complaint you can leave a review on Google.
Everyone is just following procedure, and the automated robot calling system just calls the next number on the list. If it connects, the line is directed to the next operator, wherever they are in the world. The only way to stop this is to contact your agent.
Hope this helps!

They are a company that handles smoke alarms, electricity and plumbing.
Usually they call because your landlord/real estate has arranged for a check up appointment.

Yes, they are SmartHouse Australia. They test your smoke alarms, usually from the estate agent if you are renting. Recently has our batteries tested and changed, they are a legit company.

Let these guys in once. Once was enough. Showed him where the fire alarm was. Turned my back for one minute, found him wandering through the entire house! Threw him out.
