Three calls in three hours. I have been in a meeting all afternoon so have received three lengthy messages of some woman saying "Hello? ... Hello? ... Hello?" getting more and more agressive at each greeting. This concept of selling via calls direct to personal mobiles is extremely problematic and i am surprised that no one has mentioned before that it costs the consumer - without their chance to decide whether they want this charge or not. As each message went for over 2 mins and I pay for retrieving messages on my mobile, I have now been charged for something I never asked to receive. As far as I am concerned this goes a little further than just general land line harrassment by call centres. Most mobile phone message banks do incur charges for either leaving or retrieving messages, sometimes both. Therefore this potentially could cost someone money - or the last of their pre paid credit) if they dont answer. I, like most consumers dont answer a random number i have never seen before as I dont like being harrassed by cold calls, but it seems like they are going a bit far to leave regular and lengthy messages. As far as I am concerned this is comparable to coming to my house and when i dont answer the door, waltzing in and take money from my wallet. The 'Catch 22' is that it will cost more dearly if you do answer - they then confirm you as a responsive 'possible' sale - and once that is on a major sales service call centre database it will go everywhere. This harrassment did have one positive - It reminded me to register my mobile on the Do Not Call Register so as to have back up should they call again.

Yep, it's definitely Telstra trying to sell mobile services. I told them my mobile is owned and paid for by my company and that cut the conversation short.Seems like an abuse of position to be calling phones from other carriers using information gathered in their privileged position....

I've been getting these calls every friday and tuesday at around 12.30 and a few months ago I got the same thing (also telstra) with a different phone number. What I don't understand is why telstra are calling me since I've never been attached to their servicing.

2 days now i have been getting calls from this number. 1 yesterday and 2 today. The thing is probably 97% of the comments here are telstra, my phone is optus. I dont really have my phone on me cause it is in my bag at school and my phone is on silent so i dont hear it ring or vibrate.
