I believe this is Energy Australia (I won't type what I currently think of them...) Can't call them back on this number (it was a missed call) and since I don't have voicemail, can't confirm. Probably an overseas call routed through an Australian number.

Just had a call from (03) 9422 7790. I said hello but there was no answer and they hung up after a few seconds. Probably a robot marketing caller? I am also changing electricity supplier since had enough of energy Australia.

This may be tru energy / energy Australia. Just starting to receive calls from this number 2 weeks after I for better words told them where to stick there company after sending me a letter to say that they are placing me onto a contract after not being on a contract for some 5 years or so.

I also received a phone call from this number. I put a complaint into the Ombudmsan and TruEnergy had 3 days to phone me. As soon as I picked it up - they hung up. I rang the Ombudsman and told them that TruEnergy was shirking their responsibilities and this does not count as their mandatory phone call. They agreed and they told TruEnergy to phone me for real. I also told the Ombudsman that the phone number is disconnected - they did not seem surprised. I have demanded over and over again to speak with someone in Australia but they refuse to allow me this courtesy and right to protect my identity. When speaking with these companies who employ overseas representatives, demand and Australian number with an area code and a dialed number, not a 13 or 1300 or 1800 number. Then get the operators name and phone them back. This is the only way you can ensure that your private identity is protected.

Yes I was silly enough to answer this phone number and now i am a bloody tru energy customer. they said apparently the premises i have moved in were ex tru energy customers so now i have a bill account with them and i owe money to them apparently. dont answer it! they are liars

Just received a call from this number and there was a short pause before a female voice with an accent asked if I was "???????????? Investments" which I am not. The caller then said "sorry to bother you, thank-you mam". I think it is overseas.

I received a missed call on this number last night (17 Jan 2012). I am NOT with Tru Energy, nor have I ever been.
Same deal - call back, the number is disconnected.

Number seems to be TRU Energy. Their main listed number is 133 466. But TRU have premises on Macdonalds Road South Morang Victoria and (03) 9422 nnnn is common for that area.

I answered a call from this number and in my opinion it was genuinely TruEnergy. They woman referred to a form I submitted only two days earlier requesting a change to my contact details. After that I confirmed by date of birth and then she read back to me phone number and address I entered through the TruEnergy website.

Hi everyone...I received a call today 08-04-09 asking about an over paid bill dating back to 2003-2004 through TruEnergy. They knew my name asked for my date of birth as confirmation. Then said that i had overpaid an account & they owe me $378.00. Asked for my address so they could post out the cheque. I also called the number back & i too got the same recorded message "this number has been disconnected." I reported it to the police but they were no help. I will contact Telstra & also TruEnergy tomorrow, to see what they have to say...Some one has to know something.... Has anyone since had any problems after they have received this call...Checked phone bills or your bank accounts to make sure everything is OK. This call came through on my mobile.....

I had a missed call from this number last night on my mobile (no message left), and I don't think its tru Energy, because I'm not with them, and havent been with them.I rang back from work this morning (as it sheilds the outgoing number), and got telstra's 'this number is disconnected' message too, so I vote its either an outsourced number used by multiple agencies (in which case why would it say 'disconnected'???Or more likely its an overseas 'helpdesk' or something..I will not be answering this number if it rings again. I always figure, if its important, they should leave a message and I'll call back.

I just received a call from this number, the person calling was actually on behalf of TruEnergy. I had arranged for the meter to be read at the new house i'm moving into and they had called to let me know that the mains power had been left on and this need to be off for them to read the meter. The call was to arrange another time for a TruEnergy serviceman to come out again.
Basically, they are legitimate. They're probably an outsourced international customer service agency engaged by TruEnergy.
