called back and number was disconnected

Called me once and I picked up and said my name. They hung up. Called back and the number is 'disconnected'

Did not pick up call, no message left, when tried to call back the number was disconnected

Booked air tickets from Jetstar and got 2 strange telephone calls today and this is one of them.

Allegedly from Melbourne, but if the Australian Benefits Program they have also called me from a number allegedly in Dural, NSW (really - how many contact centres there then???). When I challenged this I was told they are based in Brisbane and their predictive IP dialler sources the closest open line they have. I then asked which gov't website has information about the scheme - not suprisingly, they won't answer this. Given the lead-in questions, I think its a scheme spruiking negative gearing.

I’ve blocked the number and I keep getting voicemails where no one says anything. How are they leaving voicemails when I’ve blocked the number???

Left a msg on voicemail, a few clicks and then a weird warbling sound.

If these scumbags call you, track them down and KILL them. They are pathetic vermin and need to be exterminated. (But do it humanely). 😉

Scammers. When I identified them as such they said they knew where I lived and said they would slit my throat and that of my family while we slept. They said they could do it because they’re in Australia. Have put our Rottweiler on alert.

Calls home phone constantly. I don’t pick up but still very annoying

An Australian sounding man with a pleasant sounding voice asked for me, then told me he was from the Australian benefits foundation. I hung up. When I tried to call the number back, it was disconnected.

Hangs up before I could answer. Number 'disconnected' seconds later.

This is obviously a highly illegal call centre/scammer as they are breaching the Do Not Call Register which I am registered. Fines for these breaches are extensive.
I am surprised they aren't being shut down as they have a Telstra Allocated Number and Telstra should be able to shut this down.

Made two nasty comments on voicemail I have no idea who or why

Called my Mobile phone 2 times. Mentions education and tax advantages. The educated Australian speaker repeatedly asked if I fitted the demographic of under 59 years of age. I said I thought he was a scammer and asked to be removed from their database. He would not stop his verbal spiel and questions, so I ended the call.

And tried to return the call ----- Call could not be connected please check the number before calling again
