Caller: it's a private number of person in moonee ponds

why is this private number claiming to be nbn?

I think this is scam because I don't think that NBN would issue a threat to cut off one's Internet connection if one doesn't press digit 2 to speak to a technician. I will inform NBN of this so that the company can take action against this individual.

Recorded message - "NBN is now available in your area. Press 1 to connect with a technician". Ummm .... no! NBN is NOT due to be rolled out in our area until December 2019!

Claiming to be NBN - internet to be disconnected etc!!

An automated message saying its NBN and internet will be turned off in 24 hours, press 1 to be connected to a technician. When you press one you hear background noise and the call is disconnected. When you return call the number you just get a message back saying the message bank is full, try again later.

Claims to be the NBN (National Broadband Network) which plays an automated message claiming that the internet will be cut off. It's quite obviously a scam, so don't pay any attention to it. Hang up as soon as you hear it, don't get sucked in.
