Caller: Amazon Premium Recorded message saying that my Amazon Prime Account has auto-renewed and if I want to cancel and to receive a refund to speak with a customer service person and to press 1. I did this and a man with an accent that sounded Indian, explained that my Amazon Prime Account subscription has auto renewed today and if I want to cancel and receive a refund of $39.40 to give him my device details and account details. I explained that I do not have an Amazon Prime a/c, he was persistent advising that 'NO, it is NOT a PRIME a/c, it is your AMAZON PREMIUM a/c. I continued to say I do not have this a/c and I will look into it myself. He was then aggressive with his tone saying the same thing that he needs my details in order to help me. I thanked him for his call and I hung up. Amazon states on their website that they do not call customers and that they do not request personal details by phone, text, email, etc... everything is done on their website.

Call received yesterday afternoon. Similar story as everyone else on here. I did speak to a female person but could barely understand what she was saying as she was speaking so quickly and had a very thick Asian accent. She became aggressive when I demanded to know the name on the "Amazon account" she was accessing. I did not give any information to her. I'm going to take the advice of someone else on here and block this number.

Fellow with Asian (ie Indian) accent called telling me that he was from Telstra’s fraud department. Apparently there were people overseas using my WiFi account or something similar. It’s a pity that I don’t have a Telstra account.

Caller: Scammer Called my wife asking her to pay $40 or Amazon Prime would get disconnected. I did what I always do with these calls - asked them to send me an email verifying their identity. Scammer asked me for an email ID to send the email to. I told him you should have it on my account. He goes onto say how he can't see any details of my account. I asked what the purpose of the call was if he had no details. He hung up.

Caller: Claimed from Amazon I can inform you right now this number if being used for scam purposes. If you have an Amazon Prime account you know their Annual fee in Australia is not what they claim. Also just a matter of checking your account to see your date of renewal. Advise blocking this number.

Called pretending they were Telstra and that people were trying to connect to my internet connection without knowing. Wanted me to give them the details of the modem. When is asked them to confirm the details they knew about my internet connection they came up with a totally incorrect name / address. Total scammers.
