Left a message saying the're from Allianz and they have a Check for you. Need to confirm personal details. Nearly called them back as I have a policy with Allianz. But they said in the message that I need to confirm my......... um... postal address. Obvious pause thinking of what details they needed. Check Allianz website and they are aware of said scam.

Call Allianz to confirm. My partner received the same calls and they were legitimate. We have received two cheques for money owed for policies we have overpaid money for.

I didn't answer', but this is definitely a scam as no message left, and I know someone who works in IT and anyone calling to request personal info is a red alert for scamming

After reading another response I tried the 1300 number and it was indeed Allianz. They are sending out a check. Still dodgy, Allianz were obviously ripping people off and got busted. Now they have to pay people back. But they choose to do it in a shady manner, people like me think that it is a scam and ignore it. That way, the greedy buggers get to keep the overcharged amount.

Caller: Allianz I contacted Allianz directly on 132 664 as I received the same phone call about my refund cheque (that I had no idea about) - Allianz confirmed it was legitimate, the cheque will be posted to me with a letter explaining what's happening.
