Never answer unknown numbers. As per all other comments, please stop these type of calls. Preying on the elderly and unwilling population. Scammers are known but nothing happens to them. How come the telcos allow all these phone numbers to be used?

Caller: Paul from Australian Cyber Security This number rang my mobile yesterday claiming that someone was trying to hack my system. He knew my name and address. He wanted me to put my phone on speaker (it was already) then open google. I refused to do as asked and he angrily asked why I would not do as told. He had Indian accented English. I now BLOCK all the numbers that are scams or who ring then take too long responding after I answer. Scams are becoming so common now and no one in authority does anything about actual attempted criminal activity. Oh but retreat something or say the wrong thing and you are instantly chastised. SO WRONG.

Caller: Don’t know Number keeps ringing and ringing and if you answer there is no one there . Finally tonight after awhile a woman with a Indian accent, answers . Told me I had won a smart meter which would be connected to my meter! 🤷♀️ Said it was being supplied by our government Told her our government doesn’t operate way that and do not have people ringing us with poor English to offer these smart meters, said it’s a scam and hung up on her, hopefully after days and days of this number ringing us they will stop.

Caller: Claim to be government initiative for replacement of light bulbs Repetitive call pests up to 10 calls a day from this number. Wouldn’t be surprised if not from Indian call centre after watching recent Nov 2021 ABC Doc “Spying on the Scammers”.
