Hi Check with your energy provider that you are still with them and that the scammers haven't transferred you to another energy provider. Let them know about the scammers phone call.

Keep getting this number , its blocked when you call it back. Dodgy!

Had a call telling that my next billing cycle I will be changed over to Sumo Energy. The rates they were offering me was not as good as the deal i was currently on. And i told them i have to go as the call was during business hours i had to get back to work. He then go very aggressive with me, So i Hung UP.

Called claiming to be my energy provider but could not name my provider

Unfortunately I do not answer any calls that I do not have in my contacts list, If they want me, they leave a message and I get back to them, that's how I look at it. I then check this site and find I was right. I then block. Thanks for the information. Its unfortunate having to deal with some unethical people out there that are attempting to take advantage of others. I tried to call back and yes this number was disconnected.

Caller rang on my mobile and knew my mobile number and my name. Said " Hello Mrs Smith how are you today?" I replied "good". He said "Thank You" and hung up. I am very worried about someone having my details and being scammed somehow.

I rang the tele no back: (03) 9088 8433 and got a message "this OPTUS tele no. has been disconnected.

I contacted OPTUS on chat line and all they said was "couldn't locate number". When I asked them if they had tried to ring the tele no. the response was "I don't have access to a phone". THAT WAS IT!

Called asking for Gary Kingston. Never heard of him they weren't happy when I said that. Sounded like a very busy call centre they were calling from all I could here were other Indian sounding voices chatting away.....Downtown Mumbai perhaps??? So I hung up and looked up the number on Reverse Australia - and yep, yet another SCAM number...

Caller: Energy Connect

An indian guy offering me a discount of 28% for energy bills ! By law, if you ask, they have to provide the name and contact details of the person responsible for dealing with inquiries and complaints. I always ask for this and they refuse to give it. That is illegal, i advise them of this and they can't wait to hang up. Also, when they say they are recording, i tell them I am recording too.

This number seems to be connected with (02) 6228 3999 as both calls happened within a minute of each other. The call from Melbourne left a message in Chinese.
