Caller: RSPCA ? Answered an ad on facebook for pets at home ID in case of emergency. Oddly the ad indicated it was from RACV on behalf of the RSPCA. Everything indicated is RACV was going to organised the “free pack”. All they wanted was my mobile number which is legit if RACV as they do ID you from that information. Someone in a very busy call centre (background noise) called me regarding this, claiming they were with the RSPCA. when I queried the fb post anomaly (seen several times now) they exclaimed “That’s OK, people often make that mistake”. To which I responded no mistake was made and it is the only reason I provided my mobile as they have all my details on record and a call wouldn’t be necessary. Their response, “Oh wow, how unusual, that’s OK if you like we can proceed or stop now and I can delete your request”. Being unsure the later was confirmed and everything on face value seems to be legit. This number for obvious reasons should be directory listed as the correct owner with “do not contact” if legitimate.
