I just called Busienss Victoria after receiving a call from (03) 9068 3488

They have confirmed that this is actually them calling business to ensure busienss have a COVID Safe Plan in place, now that restrictions are easing and business are opening up.

Small business Vic regarding restrictions easing. computerized message and then asked if I could hear him. I know in the past they tell you not to say ' yes ' to these recorded messages. I am assuming its a scam and am sure a real person would call from small business vic.

Caller: Some Machine Seducing Me

I was enchanted by its alluring voice and whispered to the caller that I have enough toilet paper for doomsday, and thanked the caller for being concern about my welfare. I never hear from it since then, that one phone stand scammer!

I called Business Victoria and they said that this is NOT a number connected with them. Do not answer!!!

I've been getting the same calls, both times I ignored then got sent automated messages. I DO NOT OWN A BUSINESS AND I do not live in Victoria anymore. Massive scam, and yes there has bedn circling on social mefia svammers who ask certain wuestions so you answer what they need. They take your voice recording and use it. DO NOT ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. Block and report.

Caller: Bailey - robo call

Supposedly from Business Victoria and calling in relation to Covid-19 in waste water in Benalla and Portland and our Covid plan. So initially sounded genuine as I live in one of those locations. Hung up after first ‘yes’ (and yes, I wasn’t paying attention - stupid!). I have had no response from Business Victoria. Have now blocked the number.

Caller: Robot named Bailey

Has called me twice today. Claims it’s from the government & asks “can you hear me”. Not trusting this one

Recorded call from this number stating they are state government checking for covid safety plan. sounds like a scam

They say its from the covid line not recognised by the hotline as their number

This is a SCAM. The same phone number was doing the rounds last year with recorded voice for a different company. I have just called Business Vic and they are aware of this scam. Do NOT call (03) 9068 3488.

It is indeed business Victoria doing these robocalls. A quick google search of “(03) 9068 3488 business Victoria” will show you that this is not a scam. It’s just been slammed in the media for being lazy and sloppy. It’s legit and not a scam.

That is nonsense. It is not a Business Victoria number at all. What number did you call to get this info? I call BS.

This is a scam. I have called Business Victoria and confirmed while they are calling businesses this particular recorded message that asks you to confirm by saying yes or other words is definitely a scam. The scammers are probably seeking to record your voice for voice ID purposes in order to gain access to ATO and banking information/identity theft. DO NOT speak when prompted. It took the staff at Business Victoria several days to get back to me after initially advising that it probably was a genuine call to confirm it is in fact a scam. Business Victoria's front line staff need to be up to speed on these scams and get better time sensitive training so that they know what is going on when you call them, otherwise they'll keep giving people misinformation. Typical bloody public service!

Have been called twice a day from this robo call about business and corona, it pauses to ask "is now a good time to speak?" have been hanging up but will now block

What's wrong in saying 'yes'? I said it. So far still alive.

I got this call as well and also called Business Victoria on their number 13 22 15 to check if it was from them.

The told me it was and that 'Bailey' is their Robo Voice/Caller.

So don't be alarmed if you have taken this call.

It is actually from Business Victoria.

I told them I would also post on the message boards to note this for them - they were very appreciative of this.

I voiced my concern so they understand it's not great having people answer 'Yes' and 'No' on a robo call.

This number has been calling me non stop on weekdays and weekends. I do not own a business and not in Victoria. Thus this call is irrelevant to me. Where did they get the number from and what is the purpose? They are targettiing the wrong people and I will complain to the police.
