I don't remember that part of the bible... unless it was the passage where he trashed the temple market...
I cant help but picture Jesus with dark bad arse sunnies on, picking up his enviro shopping bags.

Yep1 I complained and here is their reply, "Thank you for contacting the Do Not Call Register.
The Do Not Call Register team has reviewed your complaint and it appears that no breach of the Do Not Call Register Act 2006 or the Telemarketing and Research Calls Industry Standard 2007 has occurred in this instance.
It appears that the calls you reported to the Do Not Call Register were made for the purpose of conducting market research or opinion polling. Market research and polling calls fall outside the scope of the Act, providing that there is no telemarketing element to the call.
More information about the Do Not Call rules can be found at www.donotcall.gov.au/consumers/faqs-for-consumers/.

The Do Not Call Register team will review the matter you reported for potential breaches of the Do Not Call Register Act (2006) and the relevant Industry Standard. If you do not know the identity of the telemarketer or fax marketer that contacted you, and the Do Not Call Register team is able to identify this as part of our review of your complaint, we will write to you and let you know who they are. Businesses and individuals we identify in potential breach of the Do Not Call Register rules receive a Compliance Warning from the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) and will be subject to ongoing compliance monitoring. In most cases, businesses identified through complaints such as yours require only one Compliance Warning from the ACMA to address compliance issues. Businesses we continue to receive complaints about may be formally investigated and subject to enforcement actions including penalties of up to $3,600 for each call they make to a number listed on the Do Not Call Register. If you receive further telemarketing calls, please lodge another complaint. More information about the Do Not Call Register can be found at DNCR consumer FAQ .

Here is a great tip tho: Let them tell you everything at first. After they read everything, usually they have to ask your age or if you're on your cell phone or whatever. Take that time to say you're not interested, take me off your list and hang up. They cannot call you back after that. I promise you. If they do, then you can take legal action and probably win.

Just had a call from this number this evening (6.30pm). Seems to me that there is an ever increasing number of nuisance calls to my landline - to the point I am going to cancel it when my current plan expires. At least with cell phone, I can block these fkn wankers. A lot of them are scammers calling from internet based numbers, according to Telstra's Faults/Unwelcome Calls dept. I have no hesitation in being reallly rude and nasty to them when I bother to answer. Roll on serious legislation to hammer these a**holes.

I reported them to the DNCR last week due to 3 missed calls from them - one at 6:30pm on a week night, one at 2:30pm on a SATURDAY and the next midday on a week day.
I've just missed another call from them now - not happy at all.

The problems all your correspondents are having with rogue callers illustrates perfectly just how useless all the loudly-proclaimed and expensively-run 'consumer protection laws' are to the general public. When it comes down to it, all the bureaucracies set up to enforce the laws, including the many Ombudsmen, will NEVER take action against any big organisation.

Recieved a call from them- are from ORC international- looked them up and theyre a market research company who call to do surveys. My number is on the do not call list and i told them this, they stated that genuine market research calls are allowed by law to call do not call numbers. I told them i wasnt interested in answering a survey, and that was that. Will look into this further- does anyone know how to stop even market research centres from calling?

ORC International pests, they flagrantly and unethically ignore the DNCR I wouldn't therefore trust their data. They have now called me on (03) 9038 3887 AND (03) 8256 1755 after I blocked the first number.
