absolute madness, a recording was put in place after I did not answer my phone. and said if I do not reply an arrest warrant will be put out for me. lol what an idiots. I tried to call back on a different land line and it goes in to 'busy' mode.

Got call and was literally threatening and asking to pay $8000 immediately and if didn’t pay on that day will be arrested by police . Just wondering why police can’t do anything on these scam issues.

Caller: (03) 9028 8581 - Tax Scam

I just got this same call from (03) 9028 8581, recorded message saying it was a call from the ATO. I hung up as soon as it got to that part.

Phoned twice in day. Electronic voice played saying they were from the ATO and was to be arrested and I must phone the them back. Poor English and clearly nonsense. Probably wouldn’t call them back. Very good chance this is a scam of some sort.

Missed a call today, and they left a similar message to Karin's, saying that if I did not call back they would issue a warrant for my arrest. Called back, got onto an Afrian sounding man who said he was an officer from the tax office, and asked for my name and postcode to 'pull up my file'. I tried to confirm that he said 'tax office' and he put me on hold. Once I came off hold he asked for my name and postcode again. When I quered again and said 'you're from the tax office?' he said 'Yes, you're speaking with officer xxxxx and I'm calling you as part of an investigation with the tax office...' so I tried to confirm, 'sorry, the Australian Tax Office?' and then he went silent and hung up. Tried to call back and the call was rejected.

Well Known scam call, happens to me at least once a year. Robo-voice saying that i will be arrested if i don't call back..... I didn't last year and I've skillfully managed to avoid the cops.... :)

Turns out I got a voicemail - same as Karin, this is just somebody using a voice to text service claiming they are from tax office and there will be an arrest warrant.
100% dodgy.

Caller: claims to be Taxation Department

Left a warrant for my arrest on my phone. When I finaly got through on another phone I gave some indian quite a bit of stick asking him why they are leaving messageson my phone saying they are going to arrest me. He wanted to know my name, I didn't give him this of course and asked more question and he yelled back at me " why don't you just get arrested then" I told him to get F****D and hung up.
