Had these guys contact me last week, and said I placed an ad and that it was time to collect payments. They had my card of record so I’ve obviously been fooled before. I asked for more and more details, only to be told I just need to agree on the phone for them to take the payment. I said send me an email and I will. Then looking into it they had already taken the money before the email came through.
SCAMMERS!

Received a phone call from these guys telling us we ordered advertising in May. This never happened. They spoke to my business partner yesterday and she asked for proof of the advertising that had been done for the business. We received a email saying we have a invoice to pay but the top of invoice says "This is not a bill. You are not required to pay any money". I then rang many times with no luck in anyone answering my call, but then all of a sudden someone answered, but it didn't sound like a business. I then asked to speak to accounts to then hear from a rude lady telling me she doesn't need to speak to me, but advertising has been done and printed and we are to pay, I said not paying if I don't approve advertising. Funny thing still waiting for her to ring back, but number they are ringing from 0411 866 755

STATEWISE EMERGENCY RESPONSE IS A SCAM!! BEWARE!
Same happened here, Leonie called me at my work and insisted that I would pay this outstanding bill immediately. In my line of work however we need approval first to pay invoices from the departments.
When I read on the top of the invoice 'this is not an invoice, you are not required to pay' I got suspicious.
Leonie keeps calling the front desk to follow up this payment but the receptionists now always ask her for her email address so we can send OUR fake invoices to her company instead.

Hi. I have been approached by the same people. Statewise Emergency Response.
The email account says that it is not a bill and that I need not pay it.
Since then I have said that we are unable to pay this. They have adjusted the account.
I sent them an email back stating that we are not paying and that they would need to speak with my husband. I am waiting on their next response.
I have also asked that they send me a contact that I had already signed requesting that our ad to be in their magazine. No response to this request. I believe it is called false billing.
I have done some research and it looks like they are a scam. I also rang the small business tribunal and was told hat scammers often target small businesses. If they continue, call your solicitor.
Then I looked at a few other accounts of a similar nature. I Am sending my paperwork to ACCC . Catherine

Received a phone call regarding an ad dating back to September last year and invoice stating "This is not a bill, you are not required to pay any money". Obviously a scam as I thought, so be aware of these practices. So, now they're fishing behind the net. Egg on their nose!
No money, no cocktails unfortunately.

Have reported to the ACCC - Scam Watch http://www.scamwatch.gov.au/

Statewise Emergency Response started to email our company early November asking for payment for an advertisement run in April for charity. I asked if they could supply written approval for donations as this is our company process. They couldn't provide this information as we had never approved, I asked if they recorded their phone conversations as they said our director had approved the sponsorship over the phone. They also do not do this. Once discussed with the Director who had no knowledge of this company we then made an official complaint with the ACCC, specifically Scam Watch.

We received an email from Statewise Emergency Response last week with invoice attached. The invoice has stated at the top "this is not a bill you are not required to pay any money". I replied with we are not currently advertising anywhere and to cancel this invoice and delete us from their database. The director received a call requesting payment and doesnt know this business has had too many scam advertisements hasselling lately. He passed to me to deal with. I rang and Sarah said she was only the receptionist and would get someone to call back. Luke Watson rang and said director had agreed to advertising in April -hmm as if anyone can remember that far back. Anyway I said we have never received any confirmation about advertising, what the ad would look like and where exactly it was being advertised in. He kept saying Ill just ring the director and I said I am dealing with this issue. The invoice is not a bill as per what is written on it and so we dont have to pay. We dont want to advertise as scammed too many times. I advise their were complaints about this particular company and want the invoice cancelled and our name removed from database. After tooing and froing he said he would cancel but not delete from database.! We are blocking the numbers in our phones and keeping list of dodgy scams for advertising. Id say quite a few a linked together and they all relate to emergency services etc.
Ive spoke to a local fireman and he said the best way to ensure funds go direct to emergency services is donate to your local centres - not via so called journals etc.

A lady named Catherine called and asked me if I'd like to settle my accounts today to receive a discount. Thinking this was one of my legitimate sponsorships, I gave them my CC but she said that I need written approval via email before transaction goes ahead. I didn't give it but they processed it anyway. Her email said I need to write "I authorise.." and the invoice has stated "This is not an invoice on it, you are not required to pay". Told bank and they recovered and changed card number. Another bloke named Luke called and tried to recover the money but I told them no as I haven't received any proofs, or know what product they are trying to charge me for! Scam, definitely avoid!!

I have also had these people on my backs. They are relentless. They keep telling me they placed ads in a State Emergency Response (Statewise Emergency Response) magazine. I have never seen any magazine ad, never had a call from the ad and they call me up to 3 - 5 times a day.
At first I was concerned that I might owe them but I have realised that it is a complete scam. Another mobile number they are using is: 0402 013 730

Complete scammers and criminals. Unbelievable. And yes, my invoice also says:

This is not a bill. You are not required to pay any money.

I won't be paying any money. But I will be contacting department of Fair Trading. Who else should we contact?

We have had numerous calls to our business from these thieves. Numerous calls, emailed invoices with the same old thing at the top saying you are not required to pay any money, so obviously if you did then it's not their fault and there is nothing you can do. Luckily for me I am not an idiot and they have been told where to go and that we will take legal action if necessary. We have already reported it to police and they are becoming more and more well known. Unfortunately though there are always the gullible out there that will get worn down with their threats. I don't scare easily and will not let these oxygen thieves get any money from us. There are numerous company names that they come up with so if in doubt...tell them to ...k off!

I got tricked by them today too!
I was made to believe they are doing charity and they have my permission to charge for an amount that they have advertised us statewide before. They even fake an ads and sent me a copy.

Here is their email that used to trick me

Folks,
I have been doing some research on this. There are many scams out there that find your details & say you've paid for something. It's totally unacceptable.
When dealing with these journals, I only deal with one firm (emergencymedia) as they are a recognised publisher of many of these publications. I'm sure there are others out there who may be legitimate, but there will be many that will try and fool you. Just like a bank asking for your details, if it's not from the bank - don't open it.

I have received calls over the past few days from David/ Dave stating that we have advertised and payment hasn't been made. Have not sighted an invoice until he sent to me. Checked with boss - said no we are not paying. Sent a reply email to this guy saying no we are not donating to this etc. He then had the hide to call back and say ad was placed earlier in year etc. I said I will sort out. Then I took a good look at 'invoice' THIS IS NOT A BILL. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PAY ANY MONEY. What does this mean??? Then I found this scam info. So he rang again this morning I said I'm not paying - I said I had done a google search and came across this scam info. I said I'm ending call. He said we will send out debt collector. LOL. I thought about this if ppl pay every time $440 - all he needs is 10 ppl a week to pay and collects $4500 !!!!!

We have just received call from Statewise Emergency Response in regard to a supposed advert we placed with them for the amount of $430. Michelle said we were eligible for a $100 discount if we paid by credit card over the phone today. We are a small member based organisation and have a process for placing advertising.
We requested a copy of the invoice and it was dated with today date. Michelle was very forceful, calling back to see if we had received the invoice via email and reiterating the fact that we would get a discount if paid today via credit card. Alarm bells began to ring and after a google search here I am. DEFINITELY A SCAM. Consumers beware!

Just received a phone call from Belinda Moore - Community care for kids. That we had committed to placing an ad, couldnt remember the company so asked for an invoice to be emailed through. 5 minutes later same woman phoning back to see if i want to take advantage of $100 discount to pay by credit card today. NO leave it with me. Meanwhile alarm bells sound and google search occurs, funnily enough no record of Community Care for Kids in Australia or Homeland Media. Very dodgy.
