We have been receiving calls over the past 4-5 weeks telling us we owned various amounts from $500 to $310 for an advertisement we had placed in the Statewise Emergency Response publiction. Michelle claimed we had ordered the ad, when we requested a copy of the invoice, we became even more suspecious as it said on the top "This is not a bill, you are not required to pay any money". The copy invoice received was also dated for the day of request. Very forceful people. Very, very dodgy.

this is a scam they got me once, almost got me twice. congratulation to them. The thing about this scam is they are aussie not your typical indain scammer Its ok though cause i will find them. I will hurt them. They will pay me much more than i got scammed. The worst thing about this scam is they are using a good cause to scam people. These people are scum of the earth but justice will be served i will make sure of it. They scammed the wrong c*nt lol

Caller: Community Care For Kids - Homeland Media Pty Ltd I received a phone call this morning saying that if I paid today, it would be reduced to $495 for an Ad I don't recall placing. I did advertise with a legitimate company who do the StreetWise Handbooks for kids through the paramedics and police. I got them confused and paid the invoice, stupidly. When I call them back, they said it would be another 6 days before I could see the art proofs and get the 'e-book' that I apparently advertised in. They couldn't produce an agreement or any record of a conversation. I'm trying to get my money back now. They've said they'll refund but we'll wait to see.

Just like all the above. same process. We figure they have been using business names details who have placed adverts APFA Journal.etc. (who do the magazines for emergency services eg. police, prameds etc.)

Caller: Christine Moris Christine left a voice mail at out business stating an unpaid invoice - 46286 for a media package that no one in our organisation had heard of. They are a QLD based company (Apparently) for an South African Media outlet (again Apparently).
once challenged about what the invoice was for, I was informed they ran a 1/4 page advertisement for our organisation and it had run for three weeks in their journal. She gave some basic info from our website, which was pretty smart on her behalf, however at the end of the day the Invoice says at the top "This is not a bill. You are not required to pay." so i won't.

This absolutely is a scam. Can we look into a class action against these people of some sort? Can't believe they are legitimately set up as company with ABN and everything and getting away with this so long.

Caller: Christine Moris 0466 401 180 - STATEWIDE RESPONSE - HOMELAND MEDIA PTY LTD we are a small family business, and we were scammed last by a so called cancer for kids - bla bla, we gave money of course and we then targeted to give more and more. At that point we investigated and realised that we had been had - worst timing btw. In February 2025 hubby received calls from SES - he committed to support. Upon receipt of said invoice I reviewed the invoice and ABN check - 64 165 967 516 - the "business" statewise emergency response" looks like a scam for sure - I responded to Christine via email - I would make a donation directly to SES and that I thought she was scammer and not to call.

I have reasons to believe that this is a serious scam. I have paid once for a little ad. thinking I am helping Emergency Response people. That's not the case. No money goes to their fund. Why should I publish an ad in Queensland while my business in WA ? If you check their ABN you will find some more interesting info.

Caller: Statewide Emergency Response - The Volunteer Services Magazine - Neighbourhood Community News - various other publications Ive received another call today, this time from Statewise Emergency Response stating that I owe $395.00 as the magazine has been printed. If I pay today they will discount to $295.00. I flipped my lid as over the last few weeks I have received Invoices from Neighbourhood Community News & The Volunteer Services Magazine stating the same thing. While I have received magazines from both Neighbourhood Community News and The Volunteer Services Magazine, our company Ad is identical. I have never authorised these Ads. The sneaky thing is they call you a week or so before and get a little bit of information from you then when they call back they quote that information back to you as proof that you placed the Ad back in March/April/May. It might be the last numbers of your credit card, birthday, middle name, but they are all the same. Don't give a cent. I have since had a call from a person in Qld stating his daughter is doing a university study on magazine advertising and asked if I could post him the magazines for her use and would return them when done. He did send a post paid envelope, I did send the magazines (because they are useless anyway) but I did photocopy the magazine details. I feel like a fool as I did pay The Volunteer Services Magazine invoice. Don't get caught. These mongrels are praying on peoples good giving nature.

The other journals were: Bushfire Relief Journal State wide emergency relief Neighbourhood safety Journal Firefighters Relief Journal. How stupid am I?

Caller: Statewise Emergency Response Cold contacted by an elderly female caller stating the payment is due for the media advertising for the recent journal article. On request for the account details and proof of the article/advertising in the 'journal' was promptly advised 'I am in accounts and that is not my area but if you address it in your response email with payment it will be forwarded to the department responsible for the advertisement'. Requested my correct spelling of surname. Invoice is dodgy with spelling errors including my name, business and could not even spell the word 'pressure' correctly. The top narrative on the supposed invoice states - this is not an invoice and you dont have to make payment. Second cold contact phone call I advised it was a scam, reported via scamwatch web page and the female responded - 'Check our ABN number'. I told her I had and that the subsequent articles indicate a scam, she responded 'I will advise management'.

Pretty much same as above. Have fallen for one of them WORKPLACE HAZARDS AND SAFETY. They all follow the same MO. Say that someone spoke to me months ago. Smelt a rat after the workplace one as keeping receiving calls saying the same thing. Statewide Emergency Response and National Crime Prevention (quite ironic). I just tell them it would be wise that they don't ring me again. Will see if it works.
