These guys have called at least 5 times in recent months. Today I asked for a phone number and where he was calling from and surprise surprise I was told exactly the same as all you others!! Same phone number and calling from Melbourne. Can anything be done about this?

First call from them was 3 days ago. The 3 second delay was followed by a foreign voice with the speil. I asked the caller what made her think that I had microsoft & she answered that it was showing on her screen and that my computer had problems. I said that this was a scam, which was emphatically denied. When I asked how I could have these microsoft problems if I don't have microsoft, she replied there must be an error in the system & hung up. Surprised to get another call yesterday from them. When I said I didn't have microsoft , she asked if I had an Apple. Told her I wasn't going to answer questions from a scammer so she abruptly hung up. Today another call! Twice I asked her was it microsft she worked for -yes both times. Was she in Australia? yes. Where? Pardon? Where, Sydney? Melbourne? She said Melbourne, and asked if I was in front of the computer. I said no, but if she would give me their number I would ring them back. When she gave a number so readily, I knew that (03) 9018 7738 must be part of the scam. By giving an oz number some people will be tricked into thinking they are genuine. What does one do?

I keep getting a call from the #1-999-910-0293people from people with a thick India accent that are harassing me about signing up for P.C remote software repair for $499 for a lifetime. They are persistent and have control over my computer as they can make things happen remotely. What do I need to do to stop them from having access to my computer and to stop them from calling. Thanks for your attention to this matter.

I received a call from Christopher Welch on Sunday claiming to be from Microsoft protection, the number he gave me for call back is the same, I was told that my computer had been sending error and warning messages to the main server and that I needed to renew my licence in order to get my protection back on my pc, due to having issues with my computer of late I thought this was legit!! i let them into my computer, they new the right things to show me, however when i saw another ladies full details including credit card I got skeptical and booted them out, he (Arthar Wilson) tried getting back in but I kept declining!! I'm not sure how much damage they have done, I took the ladies details that I saw on the screen and she got the same call, luckily she didn't loose any money, she had taken her computer to a tech and the ppl have loaded on trojans and programs to monitor your key strokes for when you log on to bank accounts etc i have been getting calls for the last two days and since they got my partner they have not tried to call back!!! I can't believe I fell for this, but they sounded legit, i have called microsoft and they have informed me that they don't call personal computer owners in regards to these sort of things and I have also informed scamwatch!!! Lets spread the word and hope these suckers get caught or get nothing!! Now off to get my computer checked out!!

I just had a call from "Simon Jones" with an indian accent from 03901887738 telling me the same - they had been receiving Microsoft error messages from our computer that could result in malicious viruses and damage to the operating software of the computer. When i asked what he wanted he repeated the spiel over again very slowly.I said i did not have access to my computer as I was heading out to work and he offered to call back.I asked for his number and said i would call him back. I asked where he was from and he said 24/7 My PC Help (i think - hard to understand with the accent).

Three calls so far from three different companies, Microsoft, My IT, and 24sevenpchelp. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ACCOUNT, CREDIT CARD DETAILS ETC DO NOT DOWNLOAD THEIR SUGGESTED PROGRAMS.
No one will call you about viruses on your computer, no one can see what's on your computer unless you give them access......DO NOT FALL FOR THESE SCAMS.

An elderly friend of mine was conned into believing these people (Gamela Developments) were for real and gave them bank card details and they were also able to hack into her Verified by Visa and change the username and password. They also remotely accessed her computer by saying if she didn't let them update her firewall she would be attacked by terrorists! Have spent today on a damage limitation exercise!
