Got a call from Indian guy "Micheal" who said he was from Microsoft.  Say my computer was infected with malware and was "sending messages to them".  Asked me to run "eventvwr" on my computer.  I refused and and manager came on the phone.  Thank goodness I googles "eventvwr" and found this post.  Then I hung up.  Thanks, everyone!

Hey, a user at my work asked me about this number as his wife and he have spoken to a woman who's called them from this number. This woman tried to tell him his home PC had a virus (which it didn't/doesn't). Long story short after a bit of nosing around the internet I'm confident all they want is financial details and whatever information is on your computer.Fortunately they can't just HAVE access, you have to give them access by installing something.Reminder: never ever give out your details to anyone you don't know. Never give access to your computer to someone you don't know. Never install software from someone you don't trust. Especially those that call you out of the blue claiming to be a rep from some company. I'm pretty sure no company in the world gives this kind of service.

Everyone please be careful with number (03) 9016 0589. A couple (very strong indian accent) have tried to force me to register by login to their computer. I've been told that my computer keep sending error messages to their computer. I bet they are hackers! Microsoft Company won't be bother to call me to fix my computer on line. If you have problem with your computer, please take it to an authorised people. Don't give any details or trust these people at all.
