Yes, I got a convincing call from this number saying that they are from microsoft tech support, then they try to get the version of windows you are using from the conversation....then they say
"we have send so many messages about your computer being hacked, and we dont want our customers to be treated this way, so we can fix the issue"
I asked how you got my number...she says "Since your product was registered I got the details from it"
My product was registered under my company where I work...so I knew she was trying to get access to my PC saying bogus things. Then I asked can I call you back....then convincingly she gives me this number (03) 9016 0281 and said to ask for Jane..Then I called that number ...to my surprise a call center answered and I asked for Jane...then the same girl started speaking to me....I was shocked...But still I knew she was a professional hacker... Then she tried hard to convince me to login to PC..and give her access to fix it....But I told her I am middle of something and why dont you give me the steps I will do it when I'm not busy....then she gives me the steps...CMD+R..then run some file....BINGO...I new she was trying to get me to install their hacking software in my PC....
I'm in the IT industry ...therefore I knew what she was upto...I worry about normal people out there who will get caught to these Hackers....
GUYs Be careful...Dont do what these guys ask you to do....all they are trying to do is to install remote access to your PC...so that they could Hack your personal details....

Hi I got contacted by a man with what seemed like an Indian accent. he told me there was problems computer. I played with him a bit with some sarcasm that went over his head. Like sure I'll let you into our families computer with all our personal details. He assured me he would circumnavigate these details ( to fix the problem we didn't have). I told him the owner of the PC is out but I would assure him I would pass his number on to him. He then brought to attention that he was working inbound calls. I also asked for the number of the contracted job. You tell he was grasping here and making it up. I then asked for the adress he worked at. He told me he works in Sth Melbourne on Albert St. I patiently I asked for the number, because an adress isn't much without a number now is it😂😂😂. I love f*cking around with these faceless cowards. I told him my Father was an IT professional and I look forward to having a laugh with him about this when he gets home. Sad thing is that some people actually get screwed by these pathetic cockroaches in today's modern high tech society. It's them that my heart goes out to.

I have received a very helpful call from Lisa Jones tonight who indicated she had identified a scam that has been trying to contact me regarding access to my computer. MS head office in the USA had arranged for the Melbourne office of Windows Service Centre to contact me to "fix" the virus on my computer and to not purchase any new computers until this was done. When I told her my we no longer had the computer she was very quick to point out that it was actually the router that was affected and she needed to verify my Microsoft ID on the new computer as they were all the same, regardless of how many computers we owned. She has promised to call back tomorrow night to fix the router problem as long as I had my computer with me. Surprisingly I did not believe her and this has again been verified by the number of comments / complaints from the same number. By the way, there is no Windows OS Service Centre at 66 Albert St, Sth Melbourne.

Hi, got same phone call tonight from someone saying my computer had been hacked and they were going to help me fix it, straight away i thought this was a scam and while talking to this person started looking up the phone number on google he had given me to call back to prove it was legitimate. The phone number is exactly the same as everyone else on this site (03) 9016 0281. Where can we report these scammers? Is there an authority that we can all call to try and get this resolved before anyone else is targeted!

Same as above, but knew Kevin was from overseas even though he tried to convince me he was from Melbourne. Unfortunately my phone called ID said otherwise. SCAM SCAM. Please report them.

I strung her along for some time. She had an incorrect address for me (which curiously was my address that Telstra had when I was beholden to them).
When I couldn't resist any longer, I asked her why Microsoft was so concerned about my computers in my house when we only run Linux computers (at least till I took in boarders).
At that point she excused herself, no doubt moving on to the next soft touch.

I just had the same thing, they are super convincing and had all my information. Name, address, phone number, computer purchase date. I asked where she was from and she asked me to write it down Lisa Jones, Service Centre for Windows Operating System, 66 Albert Street, South melbourne VIC 3000. Ph: (03) 9016 0281. Gave me my Computer Licence Security Number and then explained to me my computer was being hacked for 1 hour a day and have I noticed it's been slower lately. I was very convinced but not willing to do anything until I checked them out so I told her my baby had woken up and I would phone her back. Then I googled the address and then the phone number.

How do they get away with this? how are they not shut down, fined and tracked down? It's so wrong.

Yes this is the second time these guys called me, and saying my PC has been hacked, so same story as before, open Ctrl+R -> eventvwr check for errors bla bla, this time I asked for contact number and address and they gave (03) 9016 0281, 66 Albert St, 2000, DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ASKED TO DO, they will get control of your computer, I can't believe why does any responsible authority doesn't catch them and lock up
