No one was there, just a pause and then a prerecorded voice says "Goodbye" - seriously weird!

the guy threatened to keep calling me until I did have time to talk to him - he is now harrassing me on my mobile - have lodged a complaint with the Do Not Call register

they WILL CALL YOU INCESSANTLY once you do so, so be warned..I went through hell getting them to bugger off and stop calling me. the way to do it quickly is to call them or email them, tell them that you are going to report them to the relevant ombudsman in your state and believe me they will stop calling. Once you make a formal complain to your ombudsman they have 7 days to rectify the situation ..they get an immediate fine but if they fail to comply and you continue your complaint with the ombudsman then they get massive fines of several thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars..this is the way to stop them from doing this sort of thing to people so dont ignore them..please tell them you WILL make a formal complain to your ombudsman and do it! its so worth it believe me.:)
its the ONLY way to make them change their system and policies..the ombudsman have to follow through on your behalf by law!!

Called me today 16/05/2013 - When I answered I heard someone with an australian accent say "Yep ok, bye" as if he was ending a conversation. Then He hung up.

Just got a call from them, good thing I didn't pick up but how did they get my number >:(

Same number, answered, had a slight delay (such as that experienced when a computer dialler routes an aswered telepmarketing call to an operator, had a male voice say "Hello?" before hanging up. Wondering if all the responses are actually just recorded and it's some kind of mobile data gathering function, for what end, not sure.

They called me again today wanting to talk about water quality in my area. I gave him a piece of my mind explaining that they keep calling me and that it's harrassment. There needs to be a law against telemarketers and door to door knockers. People can't enjoy life in their own home because they keep getting harrassed by salespeople!

they called me today, i missed it and thought it might have been someone important, other numbers have been ringing my partner some of them have been so disgustingly rude. How do we report them?

I had a missed call, so tried ringing back several times but no answer.

Then had a call I answered but the coward hung up.

I have not looked at all the complaints here, but from what I have looked at he seem to be targeting women. My suggestion is to get a male named "Brutus" or "Arnie" to answer.

Pure water apparently, asking questions about water quality. How did he get my address? He wanted my new address to make the data valid. It seemed dodgy to me so I didn't give it to him.

Called my mobile number wanting me to complete a survey about the drinking water in my neighbourhood. This guy new my mobile phone number and the area I live in but didn't know my name thankfully. Why am I getting harrassed by people all the time all of a sudden?

Rude bastard called "Mitch". Wanted to conduct a survey & when I politely started to decline just hung up in my ear. A rude intrusive pig!!! I pay for a silent number to keep idiots like that out of my life but it doesn't always work obviously. A real invasion of privacy.

They knew some very spercific information about me including my name which isnt listed under my mobile number (Its my housemates old phone). Some company has sold our data onto a 3rd party.

Missed the call - been getting a series of dud/spam calls on mobile and landline in recent months - so checked here first on this one - thanks for the heads up!
