False Australian Tax Office call about warrant for Arrest

Caller: Scan computer voice saying ato arrest

Some scan saying it’s the ato and they have a warrant out for my arrest and too call them back
I am a federal government employee bloody fools

Caller: an electricity company

A male called in from that number annoying offering his electricity discounts. Once I told him I'm not interested, the man become rude and dropped the phone.

talking about my electricity account and going to give me a 27% discount.

when i said i am not interested, the lady insulted me saying "get lost" and hung up.

getting these cheap call centers calling us from all the world is becoming very annoying. Telco's should put a ban on these call centers and not share our mobile numbers and personal information

Dodgy. Claiming to be representing Allinta energy but wouldn't say who they are. When they asked me who my energy company was, I asked them if they are calling because they think I am a customer of Allinta, to which they hung up.

An indian guy, saying from Alinta, wanted to give me 20% discount on my Electricity bill!! just because I'm a good customer!! Scam! Saying I was referred by smoeone that I don't know.

caller claimed to be from "my energy company and I have outstanding bills".. I said "you tell me who my energy company is and then we can talk further" they said "we're that company, we provide you with your energy" MASSIVE SCAM.

Says my electric bill is overdue and supply will be terminated. Don’t have any overdue accounts so told her to go away

company saying they are from sumo power, wanting my birth date to save money on energy bills... scam for sure. wouldnt give me straight answer when i asked how they got my number

Caller: 'Matthew' calling on behalf of Alinta Energy

Clearly Indian call centre. Said his name was Matthew Miller which of course it isn't but I went with it. Basically got me to switch from AGL to Alinta Energy on their Fair Deal plan that they have going on at the moment (I looked it up and it's true about the offer). I think this is actually legitimate, because I was just called by an Australian guy who went over the terms and conditions with me. I think the Indian call centre must do a few of these cold calls on behalf of Alinta and by the looks, Energy Australia to try and get people to switch providers. They already had my details, which were then passed on to the company in Australia I'm guessing. I will find out when I receive my pack in the mail next week!! I was happy to switch because I wasn't happy with AGL.
