This is a scam.
Don't call this number. Don't do what they say. Your computer is better without their malware.

Had a call from someone with a very strong accent, claiming to be 'Alan Plant' from 'Windows Service Provider' and claimed to be calling from this number. Although, the caller ID said 'overseas'.He wanted me to run eventvwr, I told him I had linux and was going to report this call. After doing some googling, I found that after this the scammer will then tell the scammee that all the logs in the event viewer are 'malicious software'. (Even though they're not) And then claim that the scammee must purchase some $100+ software to "fix" the errors. Despite claiming to be from Windows, the software comes from a non-microsoft site.

Yes I had a call from this number. They said it was about Windows 7 and in relation to emails. Hard to know sometimes if calls are pranks or not.

I had a call from these people, sounded dodgy although there is a company called "Quicksoft fix" which they claimed to be from (number matches).  They wanted me to check my 'eventvwr' file for error messages and get back to them.  Ummmm.. No thanks..  Anyone else know anything about them?
