charity fundraisers - very persistant.

First it was (03) 9006 0157, and now it's (03) 9006 0156 that woke me today, again. I have a functioning answering machine but they never leave a message - so they're now never goign to disturb me again either because I'm blocking the calls.

Several calls just like others are reporting. They just hang up soon after you answer. I called the number back and they claim to be Apple Marketing, a charity fundraiser. On their website (applemarketing.com.au) They say
"Calls from Australian Charities, or organisations calling on behalf of charities (such as Apple Marketing Group Pty Ltd) are not considered to be telemarketing calls, as outlined in the Do Not Call Register Act 2006....
if you do not wish to receive calls from Apple Marketing Group on behalf of registered charities, you may contact us to have your number added to the Apple Marketing Group Do Not Call Register.

Caller ID showed number as (03) 9006 0156. Normally, when a number actually originates in a state the area code doesn't show (on our caller ID anyway). With this number it is either no answer from caller and definitely no message left on machine or very scripted, very persistent sales pitch (for whatever charity they're representing at the time). You can't get a word in edge ways until the person has finished their script. I no longer answer when this number shows on Caller ID. I need a phone with unlimited blocked numbers I think. What is the point of having a Do Not Call Register if these Numpties can get around the rules by claiming to represent a "charity"?

How do these people get personal mobile numbers? Mine shouldn't be listed anywhere. They've also called on my home phone which is not listed in any directory and is also on the 'do not call' register!

You can also call them on 1800 811 866 and ask your number to be put on their Do Not Call register. They said it would take about 72 hours. Hopefully it works!

I can’t believe that this idiots keep calling even though I never answer and as soon as find out here on Reverse Australia that they ate charity fund raising idiots I always block this numbers..... are this idiots ever going to STOP calling!!!!
I will NEVER answer numbers that aren’t my contacts list or give my credit card details to any charity fund raising!!!! Only fools believe or give any credit card details to anyone like that over the phone!

I received a call, answered with a professional, "good morning, xyz speaking" and they hang up.

No message but when answered claim problems with computer that they need to fix. When told they were considered a prank call or scam told to "shut up" and they hang up

On the do not call list as are others here..it does not perturb them.

They use a range of numbers [03] 9006 0155-0174 that I have received over the last year or so.
The latest Apple iOS allows you to automatically hang up on numbers you don't know. I get a text message to say they didn't leave a message and I check here.

I declined the call. Then I rang back on a different phone. It said it was Apple marketing charity. So I have blocked the number. I have blocked numbers from these guys before but yet they still get through.

Googled the phone number that kept calling me and ended up here. My phone also identified it as "Suspected Spam"

For those asking how they got your number. My theory is I started getting these calls after I bought tickets in one of those charity art unions where the Grand prize is an apartment complex or house but also have cars.
