Caller: Recorded Message

Supposedly from the Taxation Dept saying that I was being investigated. I blocked the number

I’ve blocked this number on my iPhone at least twice, but they still come through

Automated voicemail message saying I had to call back or I would be arrested, that there was a lawsuit being filed against me. Absolute scam.

Yep, A complete scam. Caller was using a robotic voice with a strange Asian/ American accent. It would take someone really stupid to fall for this. However, the fact that it came from a supposedly Australian landline makes it really scary how these scum are able to patch into what appears to be a legitimate phone number. Come on you so called experts get a bit more savvy about cleaning up this misuse of a national network!! That's what we pay you for!!

Record message saying a writ for fraud by the tax office was issued in “your name” and a warrant issued. No such offence has taken place. Told to ring back. No doubt I was expected to deposit monies in an account to cover “fraud debt “ Nice try.

Automated message threatening to arrest if not called back. No identification or acknowledgement of who the caller or recipient is supposed to be. Absolute scam and it is disgusting that telcos and the government continue to facilitate these criminal organisations.
