thank god its not just me. what can we do? blatant misrepresentation. I will go this arvo to the dept of fair trading to see if these parasites can be prosecuted or at least stopped.

This number called twice today and when i answered it they hung up.Rang number back and it dialed out.Very annoying and sneaky ,will watch out for these privacy invaders in the future and will give them some medicine back

Call center wanting to talk about the telstra land line in the business they are calling. I just go a call again... Same spiel as before from these other numbers as well - (03) 9001 5894; (03) 9001 5888; (03) 9009 6601. Now I just say straight off the bat, "please take me off your database" but they just hang up and keep on calling back. That shows their privacy act obligations is not up to scratch if the just hang up on the person they are calling. Not a good call center if you ask me.

Someone from this number called claiming to be from "Telstra's Wholesale Division" and offering me a cheaper deal. Eventually I got him to admit he wasn't from Telstra. So they are lying telemarketers.

Yep, same thing with me. Keep calling my number then when I try calling it back from a landline - rings a few times then disconnects.

As these guys have been at it for as long as I can remember, calling and pretending to be from Telstra and not accepting return calls. I'll just out the company that provides them the phone service.

Is owned by GoTalk, http:///www.gotalk.co.au
I'm sure GoTalk would have terms to terminate the service of idiots like this, doesn't make the problem go away but I'm happy to put it on public record for anyone to make complaints if they wish.

Yeah i also received a call from this number, but i missed it. I been calling it back for about 2 weeks now but no one ever answers, so i have no idea who it was.

These guys are nasty at best. They will misrepresent they are from Telstra Wholesale, I imagine if I didn't no better they would even be half convincing.
Fortunately I can blacklist numbers and they are now on it.

do not give your ABN! i called telstra immeadiately after they called and I soke to someone. he said that the number was not from Telstra and that if they call back to ask for ther ID no, if it starts with a D or C and the next number is a 6 then they are Telstra, anything else they are not. I kept asking the guy if he was really from telstra and he kept saying yeah yeah and then said 'i'll just put you on hold i need to check something' and then hung up.

Someone called from this number claiming to be from Telstra and asked if they are speaking to the the authorised account representative. When I said "yes" they immediately hung up!
When i called the number back there was no answer. Certainly sounded like the pause associated with an auto-dialler when I first answered, so it's definitely some kind of call centre.
