Got a call from them today, claimed to be doing a survey for Westpac.
I am not a Westpac customer.
Asked for me by first name. Silent number on do not call register?
I told them "Sorry, he's dead!... buried him last February!" ...hung up, and added the number to the blocked list.

Now, try and tell me that Telstra does not sell your personal information?

This number keeps ringing our business mobile constantly and we will never ever answer it unless to blow a referee whistle into their headsets

Just add the number to your blocked list on your phone...get these calls all the time from various melbourne numbers but once blocked is all good..they can call as much as they like :)

These calls are driving me crazy. Im on a dont not call register yet these a**holes still call an hang up when answered. Argh

I kept on getting calls I tracked it Down and spoke to the Manager calls have stopped call (03) 8809 5333 they were very helpful

(03) 8862 7400? Block the number and you'll never be bothered by them again (until they wise up and try to hassle you from another number in which case you can block that one, too) - that's what I've had to do.

I don't know where they got my number from because I've had this number for 6 years, am on a 'no call' list and have given no one - especially not my telco, Telstra - permission to allow serial liars, serial snoops, and assorted commercial pests to bother me.

I haven't filled out any forms for lotteries or given any info to those charity pests who sit outside supermarkets begging for money - so I'd be very interested in knowing who's giving them information I haven't given permission for...and if it's "the government", then someone in "the government" needs to be horse-whipped. Twice. Then fired.

They usually hang up when you try to answer or go to voice mail. I checked a similar 'scam' and when you call back the call is charged at around 55cents a minute, or more. Apparently it is 'legal' to get one of these numbers.

I started receiving calls about a week ago. i never answer unknown numbers, especially with an area code different to mine. i thought i would just ignore the calls. i now receive numerous calls daily, i decline them all and i still get called. Im considering picking up just to find out what the hell they want.

Trying to gather personal data in order to catch welfare and benefit cheats, perhaps.
Either way, have some fun. By answering their questions with the complete opposite to the fact.

They might also be trained to have aussie accent.
