they told me they were from Westpack bank and were doing market research on customers. When I told them I wasn't a customer they quickly said goodbye!

Just a 3rd party survey company that called me to ask a few quality control questions about a call I made to centerlink recently, they didn't ask me for personal information. Nothing to get upset about.

just received a call from this number. Answered it and it hung up immediately. Checked this web site (love it) and discovered who it was. Rang them on (03) 8809 5333 and asked to speak to a supervisor. "Speaking." Asked if my number showed up on his phone. Confirmed it did. Told him to put the number on his "do not annoy" list. "Okay." Same thing happened eight weeks ago on a brand new land line, one hour after it was connected. Same mob (DBM) and given the same direction then. Annoying b4st4rds!!!

Thanks to this site, I didn't answer the number. I am a Westpac customer so maybe Westpac gave them my number. No matter, they only have my junk number ie. the prepaid mobile number I give all banks, government agencies or anyone else who wants my number. I use my mobile for work and can't be tied up with bullsh*t calls.
It may not be Telstra selling your personal information Kev. It could actually be the Government. Medicare sells or shares your details with database collectors, except for identifying information like your medicare number, but they do give them your name, dob, address, telephone number etc as apparently this is not identifying data. It may also be your bank, insurance company, internet sites for getting quotes, competitions etc. Everyone shares your data around now.
