Yep, this lot are dodgy scammers. They claimed they needed me to confirm my address for identity purposes. I told them to stop texting me and instead send a letter of demand for the alleged debt to the address they claim to have.

I called back number (03) 8738 1312 spoke to a woman who said company name is National Mercantile.

I had a call from this number saying I business dealings with Mercantile Mutual and I could I confirm my address. I said no I have no dealings with that company who are you. She kept repeating that she was just trying to verify my address and I said again no. She would not give me any information about her other than I could google the number. When I got home I did...surprise surprise. She claimed to have my address and would give me the number if I would give her the street name I told her to send me a letter.

These guys called me today pretending to be doing a reference check on a mate for a job, and then started asking me for his address and phone number. Sounded pretty shifty to me, so I hung up on them.

Dodgy scam call - a lady called Shaz Sayal called me and was very cagey about who she was and why she was calling.

She wanted me to divulge all my information, but it was like pulling teeth trying to get any information from her.

She claimed that I had a personal business matter with their financial services company, when I've never heard of them before and wanted to know my name, where I lived and the like.

I asked that they not call back again, as it seemed like a scam.
