Caller: Supposed ANZ Representative

Person stating he is from ANZ in Victoria. Claims to have your bank details and gives information regarding credit card has been hacked. Tries to talk you into changing all your bank details into a new account and steal money from you.

Caller: Claim to be from ANZ bank

I had someone call me from phone number (03) 8699 6955, the phone number is an ANZ bank number, however the scammer has been able to piggyback of ANZ bank's number for the scam.

They advised me that i had fraud activities on my card in the last 30mins. They then asked me to confirm my credit card number, ex date and CVV number. As i had , had fraud committed ton my card within the last months i though it was ANZ bank calling about that, however when they asked me to confirm my card i was able to quickly block my card. I hang up on them and called ANZ Bank straight away to check everything and the bank confirmed it was not them. ANZ CONFIRMED THEY WOULD NEVER ASK FOR TO CONFIRM CREDIT CARD DETAILS SUCH AS NUMBERS EXP DATE OR CVV NUMBER. The scammers tried to call me back 8 times after i hang up. My card was cancelled by bank and will get a new one just to be safe.
