My call from this number was from ANZ OnePath Superannuation, in response to a prior request. They did ask for a security code (which I also refused to provide) so I asked them for a number to call back, then verified online that the number was a valid ANZ contact number.

Actually, that is exactly what a real bank would do. The security password is how they verify you over the phone, because there's no other way to know who picked up the call. It is an ANZ line.

100% legit. Spoke to ANZ about a problem with their website, they rang me from their NZ call centre, then a girl rang who had an Indian accent from their technical department. She knew the problem without me telling them.

Are you sure? They claimed to be from ANZ bank but then asked me for me security code. No real bank would ever do this.
