What a helpful page. Got a missed call from this number, googled it before calling back and google brought me to this page. I called the number and it was engaged. True story.

I sent a message to optus via their website about this number, I said:
---- I get a daily call from (03) 8678 4275, if you look at this website you will see a lot of people are getting calls from this same person: http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/(03) 8678 4275/5 It appears to only affect Optus customers & the person calling claims to be from Optus. One of two things needs to happen: 1) If they are not from Optus, you need to address this and prevent them from calling all your customers 2) If they are from Optus, they should get the hint that if I am not answering their calls after multiple weeks, they should stop calling.
I have been an Optus customer since I got my first mobile (approx 12-13 years ago if I remember) but if this continues I will be moving to Telstra at the end of my contract. ---- Their reply: Please accept my apologies for any frustration caused by the receipt of telemarketing calls from Optus.
I have now requested for your details to be removed from our Marketing database. It can take up to six weeks for your details to be removed from all our databases and in the interim you may still receive calls from Optus.
The reference number for your request is XXXXXXXXXXXX. You may want to keep a note your reference number, as it is useful if you continue to receive marketing calls.
Please be aware that some companies may promote themselves to you as "Using the Optus Network". Organisations that use this sales pitch utilise our Mobile Phone towers but are not directly representing Optus and have their own unique business name, billing and promotions. If you are receiving marketing calls from one of these companies you may need to make a separate request for removal from their marketing database.
Once again, please accept my apologies for having received these calls. I do understand your frustration and appreciate your feedback.
If you have any other questions, please let me know and I’ll be happy to assist you further.
I hope that you enjoy the rest of your week!

So really doesn't mean much, could still get a call from them... and if I do I will be moving to telstra.

Yeah, I'm on the do not call list and still get these calls. If you are an Optus client though it's not classed as a cold call so being on the register will effect nothing. d*cks.

Wow, was curious who the number belonged to.ive been called about 5 times but missed all of them. Rang back today and it goes to a MSG bank which is full (of abuse I bet:-)) and tells me to call back later. Thanx for the info:-) will give it to them if they call back.

Got a call from these idiots. No identification, not a person, sat there on the line for a while and then disconnected. Maybe it's some kind of phishing scheme but what's with them saying nothing. Bizarre. Idiots. f*cking Optus.

Said they're from Optus, tried getting me to change from pre paid to sign up on a contract. I told him to shove it. They mustn't make notes because they tried calling again today.

i missed a call from this number, called back and got an automated message saying it was optus' telemarketing. They advise of a website you can request they "do not call" at www.donotcall.gov.au.

I am sick of getting calls from this number!! I often rush to the phone just to find it is this annoying call that hangs up, or when I try to call back, find that it is a recorded message wanting to sell me Optus stuff. Optus can go to HELL as far as I am concerned and soon I will have no reason to deal with them ever again.
