This is a scam they are trying to get your account details. Starts with a text advising that your card has been temporarily disabled and that a consultant will call you.
When they call they say there is a pending transaction that requires authorisation. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY DETAILS - HANG UP and report the call to your bank

Caller: NAB This is a NAB phone number but it only appears as an overseas number in the directory. I would never give personal details to anyone that calls as phone numbers can be masked. Go to the locked NAB homepage and only call the NAB phone numbers that appear on their website.

Dodgy scammer posing to be someone from NAB. They informed me of suspicious activity on my account and my account has been suspended. Luckily early on in the call I logged onto Internet banking and no sign of account suspension. Reported to NAB immediately.

Connected then hung up, guessing a scam call, called back and apparently it was NAB bank. Unsure if it was real using nab bank to divert calls or a scam number. Extremely suspicious.

There appears to be scammers spoofing this number. This is an official NAB number - it's the one you call for internet banking support from overseas. I wouldn't think you should be receiving calls from this number.

Had this text sent to me. I've never sold wine to anyone, and those digits aren't mine. 'Paul has transferred $38.00 via NAB Internet Banking to acct: XXX-XXX XXXXX1911. Wine for Paul. Transfer for Pauls wine.'

Have been getting sms messages every few days after activating a new plan with Optus last week. Literally 20 mins after activation I got a NAB message advising me of a 'balance'. Don't bank with them, so totally weird. I just ignore them as it appears to be a scam.

When you do NAB online banking transfers or add to your payee list, they send you an authorisation code from this number to your mobile to confirm the transaction.

I think most of the people commenting here have been accidentally called due to a NAB customer having incorrectly entered there SMS security phone number, and then NAB sending the texts to the number (which is wrong). I am a NAB customer, and use this feature lot, and can see how easily the number can be accidentally recorded by a customer who has muddled up the number when they tell the call centre.

I just got two sms's reminding me to pay my credit card payment by 31st May. Very strange as I never miss a payment... don't like this at all especially on a Sunday night. I will complain and change the options regarding smsing.

I am a NAB customer. And I receive an sms from this number at least once a day letting me know my account balance. Sometimes out of the blue at really strange times of the nite I get 5 sms in a row saying the same thing.
