Yeah, it's Origin. If you were previously with another power/gas provider and Origin is now claiming to have your account, chances are it's true. That happened to me. A few years later when I wanted a gas supply Origin gave me the run-around so I went to AGL. Since then I have had numerous calls from both companies wanting to provide both power and gas. I thought they were supposed to stop making these cold calls. Additionally some of the callers even promised to make a note in my file not to bother me any more, but it seems no one is bothering to read that! Thanks fellow posters, I will now block this number.

+1 to the list of those annoyed by this caller. Missed calls, no message left.

Glad I know who's number this is now thanks. I've just blocked it in my phone! Had about 8 calls no message. Idiots!

Origin Energy, wanting you to change your plan and offering Electricity as well as Gas

I have had a number of calls now from this number claiming to be Origin Energy, well this maybe true but the fact is that Origin is not my current nor previous energy provider. They left me a message saying that my contract is up for renewal????

Origin Energy - if you use their call back service they use this number. Plug it into your phone as a contact so you know who's calling otherwise you go back to the back of the call queue again and their ridiculously long IVR menu.....

I have also been getting these silent phone calls coming to my mobile over the past six months and when I call it back the number won't go through.
Very frustrating for elderly people.

I am a Do Not Call Register, but like many people I also get this Number (03) 8635 3000. I suggest Telstra should Disconnect this number and in the futher they should provide idenification.

They claimed they were from Origion looking for someone I did not know as I was once with origion(about 3 years ago) and have had the same phone number over 20 years now. I suspect a scam

After a lengthy phone call to Origin Energy my mobile had two missed calls, one being this number (03) 8635 3000).
Very frustrating since while I was on hold it clearly says that all personal details and information are not disclosed to other companies.
Yes I am on the Do Not Call Register but wonder if this does indeed work as for the amount of calls including overseas too that I receive
to my home phone (private number) and my mobile. So frustrating and annoying.

My experience is largely the same as the rest. The Origin Energy is interesting as I have just ditched them - excellent rate from Lumo. I cannot confirm that it is Origin Energy but the same silent treatment and the timing is significant.

For over 8 months (03) 8635 3000 has rang then idiots give silent treatment. 2 elderly ladies get silent treatment from number as well & now rarely answer phone, they are scared. To finally know the number & knowing we are not the only ones receiving silent treatment is a bit of relief, but it has to stop!

Ditto the above comments ... and if they ring me again, I will attempt to get their return number so I can insert a large object in to them where the sun don't shine!

It is Origin Energy, claiming they needed my authorization to switch me over to another energy provider, at the same time offering a discount way higher than the best they offered me when I was negotiating a new contract.
