I retract my post on 06 SEP 2016. The number IS TELSTRA tech desk calling to verify my landline call redirection to mobile. LEGIT.

I received a call from this no. following my conversation with Telstra's Help Line 132000. My Samsung 7 phone blocked it with note 'Extortion' attached...

Got half a message that said that my phone service will have an outage between 1 am and 6 am 18 July 2016. It also asked me to press 1 to confirm or 2 to contact a consultant. If it is an automated message from Telstra landline services than it is a piss poor message with the first part cut off and not very professional. Myself and my next door neighbour both need to have a landline phone available 24/7 for medical reasons and usually receive a notice in writing regarding non emergency outages and if extended then other services are provides, e.g. satellite phones. Ordinary mobile phones do not always work in our area. This makes me think it is more likely the comment made of a company trying to mess with your already established service.

6 calls in the space of 3min!! But probably would've been more had I not blocked them. On the voicemails left, it was an automated message giving options "Press 2 for .. 3 for ... ". So annoying.

I regularly receive calls from this number (today 10 calls in quick succession). They leave a message that it is a call back response from Telstra and to press 3 if I do not require the call back. Problem is that I have not contacted Telstra at all and the mobile number they are calling is my 4G modem which clearly means that I cannot speak to anyone nor can I "press 3". It's an absolute pain as it clogs up my messages and I have to keep deleting.

Yep got 3 calls from this today, while I had my "no number displayed in outgoing calls" switched off during the heatwave and afternoon nap.
I rang the number back.... and because my number wasn't "registering" on their network, and I would NOT verbally tell my number to a Telstra robot, I got a message to call another Telstra number...
132200..... and since I am totally opposed to Telstra - the idiots running it, and working in it and their robot answering machines, I just hit the 0# option multiple times, until I got through to another Telstra Phillipino "foreign call centre".......
To be passed around and around and around and around.....
and around and around and around
and around and around and around
It seems that these morons are totally incapable of dealing with "Hi I am getting a call from (03) 8619 - 7779. It's a Telstra number. Why are you calling me?"
Retards.
