This is obviously a third party call centre used by a number of organisations. Today they were calling my mobile on behalf of American Express - but before the call continued I was asked to provide some identity information to proceed.

Before I would provide this info I asked what the call was pertaining to... and was told it was around my rewards account and that ID info was needed to reveal points information. Given this was unsolicited and although it appeared legit (she told me I could ring an AMEX number to confirm) - why would I?

If legit, it seems to set a dangerous precedent for Credit companies to be making marketing calls that require you to provide personal info over the phone - surely the very security breaches they warn about?

Have received at least one call a day from this number for the past week. No message left. Thanks to others for leaving feedback. I know not to bother answering!

This number, (03) 8612 6900, called me several times and when I finally answered I was told they were calling on behalf of Telstra. The person said "Thank you for being a Telstra customer. That's it. Have a good night". Very suss.

When I called the Telstra Unwelcome Calls Centre 1800 805 996) I was told they had no information on the number that called me and suggested I block the number on my phone.

I registered with do not call years ago and it stopped the calls but they have now returned.

Received another nuisance call from this number and no messages left in mailbox. Been getting the calls all week. Am overseas right now and am super pissed. Am sure they will not be reimbursing me for the SMSes am getting for missed calls from them.

Receiving calls from this number. Nuisance calls. Don't want to hear from them. Tried the landline and recorded message "Welcome to Telstra" Hung up.

(03) 8612 6900 called and said they were calling on behalf of Telstra as a customer satisfaction survey. They knew my full name and when I queried there name and company she said she was Vikki from Aegis, but would not give me an employee number.... very suss

Received a call from (03) 8612 9600 on my mobile today, ignored the call and called back on my landline. The answer was a recorded message "Thank you for returning the call, this is Telstra just thanking you for being a telstra customer blah blah"

I had a missed call from this number earlier this week, looked it up here and ignored it.
They called again tonight, saying he was from Telstra.
I must have sounded quite wary and he said he was just making a call to see if all was OK with my Telstra services.
I said it is fine so he said good night and terminated the call.
Was very similar to other calls I get over the years from Telstra.

This number called me saying it was on behalf of Telstra and said "thank you for being a custome". They had called 5 or so times previously. Was very strange

I received a call from (03) 8612 6900 and the Indian guy claimed to be calling from Telstra? I just don't believe him. Very strange.

Register your number on the "Do Not Call register" at https://www.donotcall.gov.au/
If anyone does call you after you've registered, report them and they will be fined. Since putting my number on the register, I recieve almost no telemarketing calls.
