Supposedly Google calling to confirm business information, very sus, still waiting for my email on letterhead to confirm their authenticity...

Caller: Google verification

It's totally fine, stop freaking, y'all are so paranoid! They're just trying to tidy up google and have business pages verified against email addresses, the complete opposite of a scam. They're not asking for money or any personal info. Chill peeps

Caller: A woman

It's actually real/okay. It's a support call for how to control your own business listing when people look up your name in Google. She didn't ask for personal details or password, just led me through the steps to link my business to my Google account so that I can update my details.

Caller: Indian guy

Claimed he was from Google and wanted me to verify my account. Tried to walk me through a procedure on our Google listing to click on 'Own this business'. I told him I would consult with our IT people and then got rid of him. Not sure what he was going to request in subsequent steps, but I smelt a rat..

Garbled non-english voicemail, sounded like multiple people talking, possible a call centre

called claiming to be google maps and wanting to verify information. hung up after i asked for a confirmation email first.

Scammers

Caller: Google - claimed

Called claiming to want to verify business on Google. Refused to give information or Google the business to click verify like they wanted. Hadn't attempted to apply this process ourselves. Called back and immediately engaged. Definite scam.

Caller: Claims to be verifying Web site listing fro Google

Referred toa cancelled domian name

Caller left a message unintentionally. Ended up being a conversation between several people in Hindi.

Caller: Professing to be from Google Maps

Supposedly updating business information and quoted me my address.
I politely advised him that I had a perfectly adequate web site and then I hung up.

I called back number (03) 8593 9174 rang once then gets disconnected automatically.

Caller: this is a number hosted by Symbio Networks

they hang up when you answer and if you call back

Hung up as soon as answered and engaged when tried calling back
