Caller: Evidently a scammer I didn't answer, as it looked like the typical scam/marketing number. I decided to check here first. This has become a normal part of life. Thanks for the info, everyone!

Looking for someone called Geoff Eeles. Said they were a charity and would remove my number from their call list.

I had no problem with unsolicited phone calls until I connected a new phone when I changed over to new NBN. I have automatic message bank so took the batteries out of the phone a left it off for a few days and had no calls for about 4 days. This is okay for me because I use my mobile for business etc and use the landline because calls are free national, mobiles and local. Even if your number is unlisted you will still get calls because automation calls numbers in sequence.

Same as everyone else, the numbers rotate. I find it hard to believe Telstra or anyone cant do anything about the number. Don't we have to supply details to establish a number in the first place.

Seriously, I don't care if they have a job to do, its simple they talk to you when you answer the phone, not automatically hangup.

I have blocked numbers coming from 03 or 07 area codes as I don't know anyone in either Victoria or Queensland. But still the calls come, twice a day. WHY don't they get the message no to call.

They hang up when you pick up. A continuous nuisance. If they have something to say, say it, otherwise stop calling.

Please don’t be too upset at them. They have a job to do, employed by a company contracted by charities to ask for donations. The unfortunate thing is that a % (if not initially all) of your donation will go to pay for these telemarketers.
Look on the bright side, if they don’t have this job, you’ll be paying for their Centrelink handouts.
