If they left a message saying “we are a government research company”, I would save their number in my phone so I knew for next time, and I might answer if I had the time. But they don’t leave a message, which makes them seem like spam callers. They do themselves a disservice by not leaving a message saying who they are.

Caller: Social Research Center I don't have a problem participating in surveys that are about politics, current affairs or social issues. But they called me at 8pm when I was having dinner.

Caller: Wallis Research ** First up can this site sort comments in date order please - newest to the top!! I got this call last night, my phone only rang 3 times and not enough time to pickup, and no message left. I know it was Wallis Research by checking into it. I guess it is all to do with the upcoming election. I would not have a problem answering their questions, BUT they need to be more open, leave a message and say who you are and then call back 24 hours later, they might have more success. Especially in these times of massive scam calls.

Have you taken a close look at your reply? Guess not. You are little more than an apologist for these nuisance callers.
As for your "How difficult is it...an(sic) politely speak to another human being" - It's all rather difficult when the person on t'other end of the phone line does not have English as a first language. Probably does not have English as a 7th language.

Another unsolicited nuisance caller. I don't give a fig if they are conducting research for the government because I don't give a fig for our corrupt, inept, useless government.
I have blocked all calls from this number.

Caller: (03) 8383 4900 Grow up?? Seriously! They call on weekends and late in the evenings! They are relentless... I have blocked them. If I want to take part in a survey, if that's what they really are doing, I will actively seek them them out. This is not the only number they use, so it's an ongoing invasion that I constantly am fighting off, not they best way to get people to answer their phone politely either!

If people don't wish to participate then they shouldn't be pestered for up to 15 phone calls in an effort to cajole them into responding. Try ringing the Politicians who created this loophole in the 'do not call register' and see how they respond!

Caller: SRC When has any government done what the people want regardless of surveys. We need referendums on major issues. We also need to hold politicians morally and financially responsible for their actions. If you have a landline you can buy a blocker that goes between socket and phone, it can block up to 1000 numbers!

Caller: (03) 8383 4900 Our home phone (Optus), the wife's mobile and daughter's mobile (both Vodafone) were all called by this number within a minute of each other. They must have access to all numbers with same address. I guess my mobile (Telstra) didn't go off because my work pays for it and it would have work's address associated. They won't leave a message on home number answering machine and I won't pickup if I don't know the caller.
