Just had the obligatory scam phone call, supposedly from the Australian Taxation Office. Automated message (with a British accent) telling me I've ignored repeated notices, and must call (03) 8373 8630 immediately in order to resolve the matter or a warrant will be issued for my arrest. After several clicks and noises indicating that the call is being redirected, an Indian-accented voice answers....

Feel free to add the above number to any spam sites you can think of, so they get plenty of calls.

Apparently I'm about to be executed for tax fraud. They're pushing the boundary on it now big time.......

A message was left on my mobile's voicemail urging me to return the call as there are apparently "criminal and tax evasion charges against my name and the Commonwealth Court (whatever that is) is watching my property and it's a very serious matter".

Damn, I'm scared!

Home phone had 2 messages back to back. I am in Brisbane but the first one gave an 03- number to call back and the second one gave an 02- number. Same as others-recorded message with an English accent saying tax evasion and a warrant had been issued.

Had the same message as everyone else from the same overseas number 2 times now left on my messages......scam....I have a tax man so I know I am not up for tax evasion funny how the number looks like a Melbourne number... I will not call it.

I have the same massage yesterday and When I return the call they said helo and hung up

These 'people' are ringing me at least twice daily. It is a bloody nuisance. Fake ATO scam. Dangerous as less suspicious folk could fall for it.

I just got a message on my home phone answering machine Claiming they are from the ATO & they had sent letters & now I have a warrant for my arrest thought it was hilarious bloody scammers bad on the mobile to!!!

3days running this scam .

Just had a call from the tax dept. pay up or you will be arrested. I JUST GAVE THEM THE TAXIDERMIST'S FAREWELL.[GET STUFFED]

Got same m essage with same absurd nonsense ... has to be some kind of scam.

1 have had the same phone call 4 times, also claiming to be the taxation office etc... I'd like to know how to stop all this nonsense.

I also got this automated message on my home phone on Saturday just gone lol. They said they were executing a warrant for my arrest or some stupid sh*t. Mine was a guy, also with a british accent. I don't even bother answering my home phone now, there's so much crap being sent to it. The scammers sound like they're giving up on emails, and starting with home phones.

Same scam came in today and also same call on voicemail 2 days ago, refered number to ATO
