Get this number calling all the time. Dodgy number for me as I have dealings with a VIC number. They can always leave a msg but never do. Ignore them.

It' not NAB, it' a scam! I rang NAB after being called and they said the name given me was not one of their employees. They ask increasingly more revealing questions phishing for personal details for later frauds.

I just tell them I'll get the home owner - then I put the phone down on the table. I couldn't tell you how long they sit there waiting until they hang up? I'd live to know. What I do know is when I come back to the phone after 20 odd minutes - there's never anyone there..!

I wish these people would stop ringing my number. If you know me or if it is an emergency, you will leave a message so I know what the call is about. Other than that it is harrassment.

Rob, you obviously don't get too many of these calls to call others wingers. Put yourself in their places or mine for example with 22 (03), 9 (07), 4 (02) a mess of overseas as well as all the private or blocked numbers. they don't bother me anymore, because they're identified on the display & voice IDs as who or what they are. Your problem is apathy.

Scott is right to some degree about the Do Not Call register - it's definitely handy! - but keep in mind the DNC Register does only apply to sales calls, NOT market research calls (data collections/surveys etc) or fundraising calls (not-for-profit/asking for donations etc). I've found that all I needed to do was ask that they remove my number, and any other contact info they may have for me, from their database so you don't get called back by them. It worked for me - I called up NAB and verified it was done, and it was.

This is SOOOO annoying! I've actually spoken to them once and demanded they remove my name from the list - I was told it WAS, only to receive another two missed calls! And again, the call rang maybe three or four times and they hung up!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

You'll NEVER guess... I got another call from this number just now and had the opportunity to answer it. It is the NAB (National Australia Bank) calling their existing customers to take part in a survey. I expressed my annoyances and demanded that my number be taken off their calling list. Their policy dictates that they cannot leave a message as they are an outgoing call centre only. I then asked that she pass my request on to their 'policy makers' to allow them to leave a short message stating who they were.
We shall see!

Bluey. You obviously have no clue as to how an outbound call centre works. Here's a rough guide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Call_centre
Remember, these people are.. well, people. No one likes an occasionally abusive job but sometimes people have to do them in order to achieve something better for themselves.
Wikipedia defines market research: "Market research is for discovering what people want, need, or believe", or how they feel. That is what the people behind this number are doing.
Market research is an old business method. It is likely to stay.
At the end of the day, if you don't want to do it, guess what! YOU DON'T HAVE TO!!! Just say one of the following options conveniently numbered 1 to 10:
1. No 2. No thank you 3. I would not like to participate 4. I do not want to continue 5. No thanks 6. Nah, nah thanks 7. No, and please take me off your list ..........(Crucial to say that if you don't want to be called again.) 8. No thanks 9. No thanks 10. No thanks
and remember:
IT'S ONLY AN PHONE CALL, NOT THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.
And as for you, Miss/Mr 'prank call' ((clever name by the way, I see what you did there, I bet you're very smart) how old are you now, almost in big school?), a simple piece of advice:
Be kind unto others, and they will be kind unto you.

The "Do Not Call" register does not include genuine market research calls, only telemarketing and sales calls. It says this quite clearly on its website, and was emphasised during its rollout.Since (03) 8327 6500 is a genuine market research department, they are still permitted to contact you to ask if you would like to take part in their research. However, if you just ask them to remove your number for research purposes, then they will and you will not be called back.Simple. Just be nice about. The interviewer calling you has nothing to do with the bad day you may be having...

If you just tell them you dont want anymore calls they can permanently take you off the call list. They have your home and mobile numbers because its all in the NAB records. So just tell them to lose your number!

Yeah, they only ring twice so it's not like you have time to answer it anyway
