There were 2 check boxes on bottom of Veda form to contact you, I unticked the 3rd parties to contact box but not the box above, it also said on form they would contact you about your "options" in addition to emailing/mailing orm. I didn't take the call I got today but will see what happens when they call back tomorrow.

Thanks everyone for posting. The call rang twice then hung up. I could tell its a call centre because their systems cut out after a few rings, unlike humans who respect it might take a few rings. I then called back, dialed 1 to be speak to an operator and was told "sorry we cant answer your call due to technical difficulties" There are ways of doing business, this is not one of them..

Looked onto the Veda site after watching a story on 7 regarding personnel credit rating scores. Filled out the from and received a call form this number with no response from the other end.

I applied for a the free credit report yesterday. Received a phone call today, answered, no one was there. Another call I didn't answer left a message like: hello, hello... I want to talk to X. Hello... I requested contact by email ONLY however the form would not complete without the mobile number filled. I also checked the box to NOT receive any marketing.

Yeah, same thing happened to me - they said the free report doesn't include my credit rating, but was "willing" to offer me a special price, just for today. I declined.

Wow. Like all 5000 odd of you guys - I put in a request for a free credit report a few days ago. Since then, every day I get a call from this number that hangs up when I answer. Appalling behaviour on Veda's part.

so I just rang veda to complain after having the same thing. they said I should email donotcontact @ veda.com.au and request that I do not be contacted and report that I get hung up on every single time I answer the phone! having your PAS reference number is the bit of info you need to include.

This just happened to us! My husband & I applied yesterday, and today, they called, asked to speak to my hubby, when I said I would get him they said no that's fine, then hung up. They then rang my mobile & hung up as soon as I answered.

Same as everyone. This is wrong. Here is the email address for Office of Australian Information Commissioner : enquiries @ oaic.gov.au Suggest everyone who is annoyed by Veda's unprofessional behaviour send a complaint via email to them to have this stopped. I have done this and also emailed Veda that I have posted this information, and logged a complaint myself.

I've just got their call today after a missed call yesterday. Just picked the phone up but it was hang up immediately.
Thanks to this forum I know it was probably from Veda, as I requested my credit file few days ago.
Like some other people commented, this act is very unprofessional given that they hold up our personal details.
Should we make a complaint to the government the way Veda conducts their business?

I keep getting this call. have ordered the free report, am currently waiting. my friend ordered the immediate report and all it does is list every time your credit file has been accessed and who by/what for etc. it doesn't give you your actual rating.

Same thing just happened to me now. I requested a report this morning. I called them back and their message bank just said they were experiencing system problems so I couldn't leave a message. Just rude and unprofessional.

This number is for Veda credit reporting agency. I applied for a free credit report and ticked the application's box to be contacted by email only. Like everyone else here, within a few days I received an unwanted call. I said hello several times but there was no answer and then the call dropped out. IF they are just verifying my number, that's a weird way to do it, at the very least. Because I'm on a mobile, I have identified the number in my contacts as being Veda and if they ring again, I will not be answering. Shoddy way to do business, in my opinion. I wonder if I will receive my free report?
